Sony Launches Its First Fisheye Zoom G Lens in Malaysia at RM6,399

Sony has introduced the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G, its first fisheye zoom G Lens for full-frame Alpha E-mount cameras.

Covering an 8mm to 14mm focal range, the lens offers both circular and diagonal fisheye perspectives. At 8mm, it delivers a 180-degree circular fisheye view, while 14mm provides a 180-degree diagonal fisheye perspective across the full frame. Sony says it is designed for creative applications including landscapes, architecture, sports, filmmaking and content creation.

Despite its wide-angle capabilities, the lens weighs approximately 314g and measures 82.8mm in length, making it suitable for handheld, gimbal and rig-based shooting. Its internal zoom mechanism also helps maintain a more consistent centre of gravity when changing focal lengths.

The optical design combines ED glass and aspherical elements to minimise chromatic and other aberrations while maintaining high resolution throughout the zoom range. It can focus as close as 0.15m, with up to 0.22x magnification at the 14mm end for dramatic close-up shots.

For video creators, the lens features fast and precise autofocus, Linear Response Manual Focus and reduced focus breathing. Its quiet operation also makes it suitable for movie production. Other controls include a focus mode switch, zoom lock and an aperture ring with switchable click stops.

The FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G also features dust- and moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine coating on the front element for added protection when shooting outdoors.

Sony says the lens can also be used for spatial content production when paired with two VENICE Extension System Mini units, with the optical axes positioned approximately 64mm apart to create a more natural sense of depth.

The Sony FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G will be available in Malaysia from late September 2026 at RM6,399.
