AMD Celebrates 10 Years of AM4, Extends AM5 Support Through 2029 at COMPUTEX 2026

At COMPUTEX 2026, AMD reaffirmed its commitment to PC gamers and enthusiasts by announcing new processors, extending AM5 platform support through 2029, introducing enhanced memory technology, and expanding its RDNA 4 graphics lineup.

AMD Marks a Decade of Socket AM4

AMD is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its highly successful AM4 platform with the launch of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition. The special edition processor pays tribute to one of AMD’s most influential gaming CPUs and includes the Carbice Ice Pad, a next-generation thermal interface material designed to improve cooling performance and ease of installation.

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition will be available starting 25 June 2026 with a suggested retail price of US$349.

Ryzen 7 7700X3D Expands AM5 Gaming Options

AMD also introduced the new Ryzen 7 7700X3D, bringing the benefits of AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology to more gamers on the AM5 platform.

Featuring 8 cores, up to 104MB of total cache, and boost speeds reaching 4.5GHz, the processor is designed to deliver strong gaming performance while offering an affordable entry point into the AM5 ecosystem. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is scheduled to launch on 16 July 2026 with a suggested retail price of US$329.

AM5 Platform Support Extended to 2029

One of AMD’s biggest announcements at COMPUTEX was the extension of Socket AM5 support through 2029. The move reinforces AMD’s long-standing approach to platform longevity, allowing users to upgrade processors over multiple generations without replacing their motherboards.

The extended roadmap provides gamers and PC builders with greater investment protection and flexibility when planning future upgrades.

Radeon RX 9070 GRE Goes Global

AMD also expanded its RDNA 4 graphics card lineup with the global launch of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE.

Designed for high-performance 1440p gaming, the graphics card features 48 RDNA 4 compute units, 12GB of memory, and clock speeds of up to 2.79GHz. AMD claims the card delivers an average of 21% faster 1440p gaming performance compared to competing products in its segment.

The Radeon RX 9070 GRE will be available worldwide beginning 2 June 2026 with a suggested retail price of US$549.

Faster Gaming with AMD EXPO Ultra Low Latency

AMD also highlighted the latest evolution of AMD EXPO Technology, introducing the new Ultra Low Latency (ULL) profile for supported memory kits.

According to AMD, EXPO ULL can deliver an average gaming performance improvement of up to 4% compared to standard EXPO memory configurations. Certified memory kits supporting the new technology are expected to arrive from partner brands beginning June 2026.

With new processors, expanded graphics options, and a renewed commitment to platform longevity, AMD continues to focus on delivering high-performance gaming experiences while giving users greater flexibility to upgrade over time.
