KLCC Group has launched the fourth edition of Sustainable September, expanding the annual sustainability campaign beyond the KLCC Precinct to Putrajaya for the first time.

Held under the theme “Shaping the Precinct We Love”, the month-long initiative brings together KLCC Group’s subsidiaries, business partners and the wider community to promote more sustainable, liveable and people-centred communities.

This year’s campaign involves the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Suria KLCC, Petrosains, Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside and The Everly Putrajaya. New partners Fraser Residence Putrajaya and Destina Putrajaya have also joined the initiative.

Sustainable September 2026 focuses on four key pillars – Move Better, Live Greener, Care Together and Inspire Change – encouraging people to adopt practical habits around wellness, environmental responsibility, community involvement and sustainable living.

The campaign was officially launched by Datuk Sr Mohd. Salem Kailany, Group Chief Executive Officer of KLCC Holdings (Sdn) Bhd, with a celebrity-led workout featuring local personalities Atilia Haron and Mimifly, followed by various activities throughout September.

A key focus this year is KLCC Group’s ambition to move towards becoming a Zero Waste District. The Group is also exploring a more coordinated approach to waste reduction across the precinct as part of its KLCC Sustainability Plan 2030.

The expansion to Putrajaya adds another dimension to the campaign, with Destina Putrajaya, the city’s first transit-oriented development, and Fraser Residence Putrajaya joining the initiative. Destina Putrajaya opened in July 2026 and is managed by Putrajaya Holdings, while Fraser Residence Putrajaya is part of the TERRA integrated mixed-use development.

Sustainable September also introduces a new Pledge element, allowing participants to make a personal commitment towards a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle. The initiative aims to turn these commitments into long-term habits that continue beyond the campaign.

KLCC Group says the campaign is ultimately about making sustainability part of everyday life through small but meaningful actions, while bringing organisations and communities together to create lasting positive change.
