ASUS WiFi 8 Routers Coming to Malaysia in October

ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Series

ASUS is preparing to bring its next-generation WiFi 8 networking lineup to Malaysia, with the ROG Rapture GT-BN98 (BN25000) scheduled to arrive in stores from mid-October.

The flagship ROG Rapture GT-BN98 series is designed around the new WiFi 8 architecture and features a quad-band configuration capable of delivering total wireless speeds of up to 30,000Mbps on the BN25000 model. It is powered by a 2.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM, while connectivity includes two 10Gbps ports and four 2.5Gbps LAN ports.

The router also uses an advanced antenna design with 16 antenna elements integrated into eight external antennas, alongside enhanced cooling designed to maintain performance under heavy network loads.

ASUS says the new WiFi 8 platform is designed to improve network stability and handle interference and congestion as compatible WiFi 8 devices become more widely available. The company also notes that its testing shows potential performance improvements even when paired with existing WiFi 7 devices.

Alongside the ROG router, ASUS will introduce the ZenWiFi BN12, a 12-stream tri-band WiFi 8 mesh system designed for larger homes. It is rated to cover up to 7,000 sq. ft. and features dual 10Gbps ports for high-speed wired backhaul between mesh nodes.

The ZenWiFi BN12 also comes with subscription-free ASUS AiProtection Pro, customizable Parental Controls and AiMesh compatibility, allowing it to work with compatible ASUS networking equipment.

For Malaysia, the ROG Rapture GT-BN98 (BN25000) is expected to be available from mid-October 2026, with pre-orders planned to begin towards the end of September. ASUS says pricing and pre-order details will be announced at a later date.

The ASUS ZenWiFi BN12 and other WiFi 8 products are scheduled for wider global availability from October onwards, with availability varying by market.
