Nothing Announces Four Winners of Its US$40,000 Club Nothing Fund
Nothing, the London-based consumer technology brand, has announced four winners of its inaugural Club Nothing Fund, awarding a total of US$40,000 to independent creative collectives to bring their music events to life.
Each winner will receive US$10,000 to develop events that celebrate underground music, support emerging artists and strengthen local creative communities. The selected winners are Black Bass Collective, Oroko Radio, Whorechata and Signal by New Delhi Community Radio.
Meet the Four Winners
Black Bass Collective – United States
Black Bass Collective champions Black artists through immersive experiences inspired by Black art and culture. With the funding, the collective will organise a Blood Ball in a downtown Los Angeles warehouse, featuring performances from LSDXOXO, Shekdash and other artists.
Oroko Radio – Africa and the Diaspora
The non-profit community radio organisation connects artists across Africa and the global diaspora, supporting emerging talent through collaboration and broadcasting. It plans to host a stage takeover at the Nyege Nyege Festival along the Nile River in Uganda this November.
Whorechata – New York City
Whorechata celebrates queer and trans Latinx communities while promoting the next generation of Latin club music. Its events connect underground artists from New York City with creative communities across Latin America. The funding will help the collective stage its biggest event yet this December.
Signal by New Delhi Community Radio – India
Founded by Nida Merchant, Signal supports underground talent through online radio, listening sessions and collaborative programming. Its new immersive event will combine music, fashion, art and culture in a block-party-style market takeover in Delhi, featuring collaborations with independent radio stations from across India.
Supporting Independent Music and Creativity
According to Nothing’s Chief Brand Officer, Charlie Smith, the fund aims to invest directly in the people shaping music culture rather than simply drawing inspiration from them. The initiative is designed to support creative risk-takers and help independent communities build new experiences.
Beyond the financial support, each winning collective will receive 10 pairs of Nothing’s pink and yellow Ear (3a) earbuds. DJs performing at the events will also receive Nothing’s flagship Headphone (1) Pro, while Nothing will collaborate with each collective on limited-edition co-branded merchandise.
The initiative builds on Nothing’s wider investment in music and entertainment. Earlier this year, the company announced Charli XCX as its first global brand ambassador and investor, followed in September by BTS member V as a global brand ambassador for the launch of Headphone (1) Pro.
Through Club Nothing, the company aims to continue supporting grassroots music culture, emerging creatives and the communities shaping the future of nightlife around the world.
