Sonos Launches Sonos 27, Beam Ultra and Ace Ultra in Malaysia
Sonos has introduced its next-generation audio operating system, Sonos 27, alongside two new products — the Beam Ultra soundbar and Sonos Ace Ultra headphones.
The new platform is designed to make the Sonos ecosystem more intelligent and flexible, with new AI-powered controls, easier ways to move audio around the home and improved integration between speakers, headphones and home theatre products.
TC Acoustic, the official Sonos distributor in Malaysia, will bring the new products and updated Sonos experience to local consumers.
Sonos 27 Brings AI and Smarter Audio Control
At the heart of the update is Sonos 27, which introduces new ways to control and interact with Sonos devices.
The platform supports multiple AI assistants and agents, including Sonos 27voice, Sonos’ own music-focused assistant, and Sonos 27mcp, which allows users to connect their Sonos system with AI assistants such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Sonos is also previewing Sonos Custom Agents, allowing users to create personalised AI agents with their own models, personalities and voices.
Local availability for Sonos 27voice, Sonos 27mcp and Sonos Custom Agents will be announced at a later date.
Sound That Follows You Around the Home

Another major addition is Sonos Fabric, which allows Sonos products to recognise and respond to one another.
One of the first features is headphone linking, which will allow the new Sonos Ace Ultra to connect directly with the Sonos system. Users can move audio from a Sonos speaker to their headphones, or send it back to the speakers, without relying on a phone being nearby.
Sonos is also introducing Positioning Technology, which uses high-frequency sound to detect the location of compatible portable speakers. This allows them to automatically work as rear surrounds when placed in the appropriate position.
The redesigned Sonos 27 app also promises simpler navigation and easier system control.
Beam Ultra Targets More Immersive Home Theatre

The Sonos Beam Ultra is the company’s latest mid-sized soundbar, retaining the compact footprint of the Beam while offering a more immersive audio experience.
It features nine custom drivers, including two dedicated up-firing drivers, delivering 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos sound. A redesigned centre channel is also designed to improve dialogue clarity, while the upgraded acoustic setup delivers warmer and more powerful bass.
For dialogue-heavy content, Beam Ultra includes four levels of AI Speech Enhancement, while Night Sound provides a quieter listening experience for late-night viewing.
The soundbar can also be paired with a Sonos Sub or compatible rear speakers, including supported Sonos portable speakers.
Sonos Ace Ultra Adds Personal Listening

The Sonos Ace Ultra is the company’s latest premium over-ear headphone.
It features a Sonos-designed 40mm driver, Adaptive ANC using 10 microphones and up to 35 hours of battery life with ANC enabled.
The headphones are also the first Sonos product built on Headphone Engine 2, new hardware that enables direct connection to the Sonos ecosystem through headphone linking.
With a single press, users can transfer audio playing through their Sonos system directly to Ace Ultra and switch it back to the speakers when needed.
Ace Ultra also supports USB-C and 3.5mm connectivity, providing additional options for wired listening.
Designed as One Connected Audio System
Sonos continues to position its products as part of a single connected audio ecosystem rather than standalone devices.
The platform supports more than 100 streaming services, while compatible Sonos products can be grouped together for multi-room listening or combined for home theatre setups.
Beam Ultra supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HDMI eARC, while Sonos Ace Ultra adds USB-C and 3.5mm connections.
Sonos’ Trueplay technology can tune Beam Ultra to the room, while TrueCinema can optimise the audio experience when using Ace Ultra with a compatible Sonos soundbar.
