Samsung Galaxy A18 Arrives in Malaysia with AI Features, Enhanced Performance and Samsung Wallet

Samsung Electronics has introduced the new Galaxy A18, bringing improved performance, versatile camera capabilities and useful AI-powered features to its smartphone lineup. Designed for everyday activities such as streaming, photography, social media and multitasking, the Galaxy A18 also offers practical digital services and long-term software support.

Samsung Wallet Brings Everyday Convenience

One of the key highlights of the Galaxy A18 is Samsung Wallet, which provides more than just a place to store payment cards. Users can access QR Pay powered by MAE Scan and Pay to scan and pay at participating merchants, while keeping important digital items such as movie tickets, flight boarding passes and digital cards in one convenient location.

Samsung Wallet can be accessed by swiping up from the lock screen, allowing users to make payments without having to open multiple applications. Eligible transactions also provide opportunities to earn rewards, which can be redeemed for vouchers or used to enjoy discounts when purchasing selected Samsung products.

The Galaxy A18 LTE also comes with One UI 9.0, allowing users to scan DuitNow QR codes directly through the camera application for convenient payments.

Security is supported by Samsung Knox, while Samsung is promising six years of operating system and security updates for the Galaxy A18, helping users keep their devices protected and up to date for longer.

6.7-inch Super AMOLED Display and Helio G99+ Performance

The Galaxy A18 features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, offering vibrant colours and clear visuals for watching videos, browsing social media and enjoying mobile games.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio G99+ processor, paired with upgraded LPDDR5 memory. The newer memory technology is designed to improve app launches, multitasking and data transfer speeds while reducing power consumption by up to 20%.

The phone also supports RAM Plus, which uses available storage to provide up to an additional 6GB of virtual memory. Users can enable it to support smoother app switching and background activity, or turn it off to reserve more storage for photos and videos.

Triple Camera System for Different Perspectives

For photography, the Galaxy A18 comes with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide camera and 2MP macro camera.

This combination gives users more flexibility when taking photos, whether capturing everyday moments, wider landscapes, group shots or close-up details.

AI Features Make Everyday Tasks Easier

Samsung is also bringing more intuitive search and AI experiences to the Galaxy A18.

Enhanced Circle to Search allows users to circle or tap content displayed on the screen to look for information without manually typing or switching between applications. The new Find the Look feature also allows users to search for complete outfits or identify music playing nearby.

The device supports multiple AI agents, including Gemini and Perplexity, which can help users interact with supported Samsung native apps, Google applications and selected third-party services. These assistants can be activated through voice commands or by long-pressing, allowing users to complete supported tasks more naturally.

Improved Durability and Samsung Knox Security

The Galaxy A18 is designed with everyday durability in mind. It carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes, while Corning Gorilla Glass 3 helps protect the front display against scratches and everyday wear.

Its glass-fibre-reinforced polymer back cover is designed to offer improved strength while maintaining a slim profile.

For additional data protection, the Galaxy A18 comes with Samsung Knox and Knox Vault. The latter provides hardware-based protection for sensitive information through a dedicated security environment, helping safeguard users’ private data.

Malaysia Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy A18 LTE is available in Malaysia in Light Blue, Black and Silver, with a recommended retail price of RM1,199.

For a limited promotional period, customers can enjoy a RM100 rebate, bringing the price down to RM1,099, and receive a free 25W Super Fast Charger with every purchase.
