Taiwan Strengthens Its Role as a Global Tech and AI Powerhouse

The curtain has closed on COMPUTEX 2025, marking the end of four vibrant days of exhibitions, forums, and networking. Widely regarded as one of the most influential global technology events, this year’s show welcomed 86,521 buyers from 152 countries, with notable participation from Japan, the United States, South Korea, Vietnam, and India. Under the theme “AI Next,” the event showcased Taiwan’s growing leadership in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, offering a powerful platform for global business collaboration.

As AI applications continue to diversify and gain momentum across industries, COMPUTEX 2025 served as a key stage for new innovations and real-world deployments. The event centered on three major themes—AI & Robotics, Next-Gen Technologies, and Future Mobility—and aligned with Gartner’s forecasted top tech trends for 2025, which include Autonomous AI, Humanoid Robots, and Advanced Computing.

The exhibition halls were filled with groundbreaking innovations from global and Taiwanese companies. Pegatron drew significant attention with its display of human-machine integration technologies, including lifelike robot dogs and immersive virtual reality systems. BenQ captivated visitors with a multi-zone exhibit, highlighted by an AI-enhanced golf simulator that combined real-time motion tracking, visual analysis, and smart feedback for an interactive sports experience. Meanwhile, Advantech and Solomon demonstrated Taiwan’s manufacturing prowess by showcasing intelligent factory solutions such as autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), collaborative robotic arms, and comprehensive AIoT platforms.

Adding momentum to Taiwan’s role in the smart mobility sector, COMPUTEX featured a dedicated Smart Mobility Pavilion curated by TADA. This area brought together 19 pioneering brands—including Vitalcore Technology, System Electronics, OToBrite, and others—highlighting advancements in electric vehicles (EVs) and intelligent transportation systems.

InnoVEX Celebrates a Decade of Startup Innovation

This year also marked the 10th anniversary of InnoVEX, COMPUTEX’s signature startup showcase. The 2025 edition saw its largest scale to date, with a 12.5% increase in participation and 450 startups from 24 countries. For the first time, Thailand and the Philippines introduced national pavilions, sending a combined 22 startups—a strong signal of Southeast Asia’s emerging presence in the global tech scene.

At the InnoVEX Forum, tech leaders from AWS, Google Cloud, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Solomon, and Advantech took the stage to discuss how AI is accelerating digital transformation across sectors. The highlight of the startup arena was the InnoVEX Pitch Contest, where Taiwan’s own DeepRad.AI took home the top prize. The company’s use of AI for medical imaging to enable early disease detection impressed judges for its practical application and positive public health impact.

Tech Titans Headline with Visionary Keynotes

COMPUTEX 2025 also featured a stellar lineup of keynote speakers who offered insights into the global AI landscape and Taiwan’s strategic role in it. The keynote series opened with Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA, followed by Cristiano Amon of Qualcomm, Young Liu of Foxconn, Dr. Rick Tsai of MediaTek, and Jens Hinrichsen of NXP. Across all sessions, Taiwan’s importance in the global technology supply chain was consistently emphasized.

Further expanding on this dialogue, the COMPUTEX Forum, themed “AI in Action,” brought together 13 senior executives from across the tech world, including Intel, Arm, Adobe, bp Castrol, Google DeepMind, Texas Instruments, Infineon, Seagate, and Schneider Electric. With over 1,300 attendees, the forum provided deep dives into AI implementation strategies, product development, and market opportunities.

Tech Meets Lifestyle in Cross-Industry Collaborations

Beyond innovation and industry, COMPUTEX 2025 celebrated the fusion of technology with lifestyle and sustainability. The COMPUTEX Sustainable Design Awards honored the industry’s growing commitment to eco-conscious innovation, with Pegatron winning Gold, ASUS taking Silver, and Lite-On earning Bronze.

Creative collaborations added color and culture to the event. Following their popular 2024 partnership, fashion brand plain-me once again teamed up with beloved local snack maker Kuai Kuai to release exclusive, co-branded merchandise. Meanwhile, a refined Hospitality Lounge—co-hosted by the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation and GQ Taiwan—merged finance and aesthetics, illustrating how COMPUTEX serves not just the tech world, but modern lifestyle and business culture as well.

Looking Ahead: COMPUTEX 2026 Expands Horizons

Building on the overwhelming success of this year’s edition, COMPUTEX 2026 is set to expand significantly. Scheduled for June 2–5, 2026, the event will extend beyond Nangang Exhibition Halls 1 and 2 to include TWTC Hall 1. The expanded venue will accommodate more exhibitors and create a unique ecosystem focused on AI-powered lifestyle technologies, further enhancing Taiwan’s role as a global innovation hub.
