The Galaxy S22 series debuted a pro-grade smartphone camera with enhanced Nightography features earlier this year. Allowing users to create professional-looking photos with an improved version of the Expert RAW app and a new app called Camera Assistant.
Capture the Galaxy With Astrophoto in Expert RAW
With a potent Astrophoto feature, the Expert RAW enhances the S22’s already excellent night photography capabilities. Stargazers and outdoor enthusiasts can now shoot crystal-clear pictures of constellations as well as other dark sky activity.
To locate constellations, solar systems, clusters of stars, and nebula, simply turn on the Sky guide. The camera will employ AI segmentation technology and multi-frame processing based on celestial body movements to capture pictures for a specific period of time. As a result, you’ll get incredible star photos that seem to have been taken using a high-end professional camera.
If you like expressing your artistic side, you can utilise the Multiple exposures feature to shoot multiple photographs at once and then combine them using overlay modes to create a singular eye-catching image. You can also experiment with superimposing multiple photographs on top of one another to create amazing abstract images.
Go to the Special Photo settings in the Expert RAW Settings menu to access the beta versions of Astrophoto and Multiple exposures.
Camera Assistant App Lets You Take Photos on Your Own Terms
Every passionate photographer has their unique shooting style. You can pick and choose which automated functions you want to utilise with the new Camera Assistant app for a completely personalised shooting experience.
The app may be downloaded via the Galaxy Store or the Good Lock app. After installing the app, you can access the function by selecting the app icon, heading to the Good Lock app, or navigating to the Camera Assistant menu in your native camera app’s Camera Settings.
You can enable or disable specific features in the Camera Assistant app, such as Auto lens switching, Auto HDR, and Faster shutter. You also have other options, such as deciding how many pictures you want to take when the timer goes off.
The Camera Assistant app allows you to enjoy the following key features:
- Auto HDR: If you want to get atmospheric pictures without HDR effect, you can now simply turn it off.
- Soften pictures: You can turn on this feature to smooth out the sharp edges and textures of your photos.
- Auto lens switching : You can now disable this feature, which automatically switches the camera’s lenses in low-light conditions or when you get near the object you are shooting. For instance, you can easily switch it off in the menu if you want to continue utilising the telephoto lens rather than the wide lens to capture images of objects that are nearer to you.
- Video recording in Photo mode: You can now turn off this feature, which allows you to take a video clip by long-pressing the button in Photo mode, preventing you from accidentally recording a video.
- Number of pictures after timer: You could already automatically snap several photos in quick succession after the timer count. Now, you can also choose how many photos are taken (1, 3, 5 or 7 photos).
- Faster shutter: This mode allows you to take up to seven pictures in a second. This is very useful when taking pictures of moving objects.
- Camera Timeout: You can select how long the Camera app (preview screen) is turned on continuously for 1, 2, 5 or 10 minutes.
- Clean preview on HDMI displays: Show the camera preview without any menus and buttons on HDMI-connected displays.
