DELL Announced The New XPS 13 And XPS 13 2-in-1

On the heels of the marquee XPS 13 Plus launch, where the system has been praised for its ‘futuristic redesign’, Dell continues this year’s rollout of its reimagined XPS portfolio with the launch of the iconic XPS 13and the reveal of the upcoming XPS 13 2-in-1.

Dell’s thinnest and lightest 13-inch XPS laptop, the XPS 13 is now available

The XPS 13 (available with Windows) is the ideal on-the-go companion since the course of a day may be changed by a single email, text, or burst of spontaneity. It’s very thin, light, and compact, with up to 12 hours of battery life, and it fits easily into a backpack, briefcase, or purse while still offering the top performance required by 12th Gen Intel® Core™ processors for multitasking.

It has the fifth generation, 4-side InfinityEdge display and increased sound for an immersive entertainment experience when streaming music, conducting calls, or watching the latest blockbuster, in keeping with the XPS aesthetic. Larger speakers offer louder sound, deeper bass, and a superior overall audio experience, while greater brightness, greater clarity, precise detail with up to 4K+ resolution, and vivid colour bring contents to life. Eyesafe® technology intelligently manages light energy at the source, reducing harmful blue light while maintaining high visual quality.

With unified tones inside and out that embody a mindful, minimalist approach, the XPS 13 is expertly crafted from premium materials and gives an inclusive approach to expressive colour. The tinted CNC machined metal is curated and premium, available in softened shades of Sky.

Same charter, new blueprint

The goal of XPS is to make the user experience as simple as possible so that the technology almost disappears and the device becomes an extension of you. However, it’s sometimes fascinating to learn how things are made, so let’s speak about all of the advanced engineerings that enabled Dell to meet its design and experience goals.

In the past, Dell’s signature InfinityEdge design redefined the front-of-screen experience, propelling the industry to adopt thinner bezels and give a richer viewing experience in the same or smaller footprint. In the spirit of pushing, or shrinking, the engineering team went inwards with the same goal in mind: to make the XPS 13 as small as possible for customers who value mobility. This time, Dell’s engineers had to rethink the architectural layout under the hood.

This marked the beginning of a long and difficult journey to “miniaturise” the motherboard to make it 1.8 x smaller than the one found in the previous XPS 13 model (2021). In fact, it’s the tiniest motherboard ever made for a Dell computer. This engineering feat provided the necessary architectural space to accommodate a tapestry of new technologies and expand the speaker enclosures. The end result is a thinner and lighter XPS 13 that sounds better, works better, and lasts longer.

Taking versatility to new heights, the XPS 13 2-in-1 is arriving in Malaysia this June

As the lines continue to blur between work, life, learning, the XPS 13 2-in-1 reflects just that. This XPS device provides the ultimate flexibility allowing users to effortlessly transition between streaming, working creating and sharing content, and connecting.

Enjoy premium performance on the go with the first XPS device to have 5G connectivity, which allows for quicker downloads similar to WiFi but for mobile broadband. Streaming, downloading files, and streaming high-definition video content all happen much faster with 5G, allowing you to be productive and amused no matter where you are. The eSIM technology in the new XPS 13 2-in-1 allows users to go to different countries and connect to global carriers without having to change SIM cards.

By attaching the magnetic XPS Folio to the XPS 13 2-in-1, users can transition freely and fluidly from consumption to full productivity mode, giving a complete laptop experience with three angle adjustments (100°, 112.5°, 125°) for flexibility and comfort. The XPS Stylus creates a natural writing and inking experience for both left- and right-handed users, turning the device into a cutting-edge sketchpad for bringing the latest creative visions to life. The XPS Stylus magnetically connects to the top to charge, and a full charge can provide up to 50 days of run time on average. Both the XPS Folio and the Stylus are available for purchase separately.

The stunning display panel, which is designed around an easy, landscape-first viewing mode, delivers high brightness and precise detail with up to 3K resolution and bright colors, making content as lively as your ideas. The high-resolution 1080p front-facing webcam, which is placed horizontally for practical and productive video calls, offers a sharp and clear image. In fact, the 4K world-facing camera allows users to take high-resolution photos and edit content all on one device.

Standard WiFi 6E or 5G with WiFi 6E are the two connectivity options available on the XPS 13 2-in-1, both of which have a sleek, minimalist design. The regular WiFi 6E model, like the XPS 13, is made of machined aluminium and comes in the mild blue Sky colour. The back of the 5G model is made of Gorilla Glass 7, which improves connectivity and reduces signal interference. It also comes in a darker Slate colour.

Delivering on our commitment to sustainability

The XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1 chassis are made of low-carbon aluminium, which is produced using hydro-powered renewable energy sources, resulting in a 70% reduction in carbon emissions when compared to aluminium chassis produced in traditional coal-powered facilities. EPEAT Gold-certified, the XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1 come in 100% renewable or recycled packaging.

With Dell Migrate, users can move important and hard to replace data and files from Windows-based PCs to new XPS device.
