Samsung Vision AI Companion Brings Smarter, More Personalized TV Experiences

Samsung Electronics is continuing to redefine the role of the television with Vision AI Companion (VAC), an AI-powered platform that transforms Samsung TVs from passive displays into intelligent companions capable of understanding user intent, answering questions, and recommending relevant content in real time.

Originally introduced in selected markets, Samsung expanded the global rollout of VAC in May, making the service available in more countries and across a wider range of compatible TV models. The company also plans to extend support to additional products and markets in the future.

AI That Enhances, Not Interrupts

Unlike conventional smart TV features, Vision AI Companion is designed to work naturally alongside whatever users are watching. Instead of forcing viewers to leave the screen or reach for another device, the platform provides relevant information and AI-powered assistance without interrupting the viewing experience.

Whether it’s identifying a filming location, revealing the director of a movie, or answering questions about actors and scenes, users can simply ask the TV and receive answers instantly while continuing to watch.

Samsung says the goal is to make AI a seamless part of everyday entertainment rather than simply adding new technology for its own sake.

Smarter Search Through Natural Conversations

One of VAC’s standout features is its conversational search capability. Rather than relying on exact movie titles or specific genres, the AI understands natural language and interprets user intent.

For example, users can ask for “a movie where justice is served” or “an animated film about K-pop stars,” and the system will recommend content based on context instead of keywords.

Samsung believes this approach makes discovering new content significantly easier, especially since typing search queries with a TV remote can often be cumbersome.

Beyond answering questions, VAC also recommends related videos and content, allowing viewers to continue exploring topics without leaving the TV interface.

AI-Curated News and Lifestyle Updates

The latest update also introduces Today’s Topic, an AI-powered feature that automatically curates and summarizes news, sports, and lifestyle highlights.

Instead of manually browsing multiple sources, viewers receive concise updates on topics that may interest them, along with recommended videos for deeper exploration.

Samsung has also redesigned the user interface with a new zero-depth layout that surfaces AI-powered conversations directly on the home screen, making features quicker to access while reducing unnecessary navigation.

Built With Privacy and Trust in Mind

As AI becomes more deeply integrated into everyday devices, Samsung says privacy, security, and responsible AI development remain top priorities.

According to the company, its development teams worked closely with legal and compliance experts throughout the creation of Vision AI Companion to ensure features meet strict standards for copyright protection, data privacy, and responsible AI use before being introduced to consumers.

Samsung says building user trust was considered more important than rapidly releasing new AI capabilities.

The Future of Television

Samsung envisions TVs evolving beyond traditional menu-driven interfaces into intelligent platforms that understand user intent and proactively deliver useful information and entertainment.

With Vision AI Companion, the company aims to create a more intuitive viewing experience where conversations, information discovery, and content recommendations become part of a single seamless journey.

As Samsung continues expanding VAC globally, the platform represents another step toward AI-powered televisions that do more than display content—they help users interact with it in smarter and more natural ways.
