Tune Talk Launches Malaysia’s First Network-Enforced Child Safety Mobile Plan
Tune Talk is taking a major step in online child safety with the launch of Epik+ Family Safe, Malaysia’s first mobile plan with network-level parental controls built directly into the telco infrastructure.
Positioned as a response to growing national concerns over children’s internet safety, the new RM80/month plan shifts parental control away from device-based apps and embeds it into the mobile network itself. Parents can manage access with a single tap, selecting protection levels (low, medium, or high) and filtering up to 56 content categories.
Built on Tune Talk’s cloud-native network in collaboration with Nokia, the system applies safety rules at the data network layer, reducing reliance on third-party apps and simplifying digital supervision for families.
Addressing Growing Parental Concerns

Tune Talk’s Family Digital Confidence Survey found that 48.1% of Malaysian parents are most concerned about exposure to age-inappropriate content, while more than 60% feel unsure about managing their children’s online behaviour. The company says Epik+ Family Safe is designed to address this gap with practical, built-in tools.
Key Plan Features (RM80/month)

- One parent line + one child line
- 700GB high-speed data (no FUP restrictions)
- Network-level parental controls with 3 protection modes
- Coverage across up to 56 content categories
- Personal accident insurance up to RM500,000

Tune Talk CEO Gurtaj Singh Padda said the initiative reflects the telco’s role evolving beyond connectivity, emphasizing that safety should be integrated at the point of access rather than managed separately.
Nokia, a technology partner on the project, highlighted that the solution uses cloud-native core network capabilities to enable more secure and simplified family protection.
Availability
Epik+ Family Safe is now available via the Tune Talk app, official website, and participating retail outlets nationwide.
