Synology PAS7700 Now Available to Support Mission-Critical Enterprise Workloads in Malaysia
Synology has officially announced the availability of its PAS7700 enterprise storage system in Malaysia, targeting organisations that require high performance, continuous uptime, and scalable infrastructure for mission-critical workloads.
Designed as an active-active all-flash NVMe storage platform, the PAS7700 is built to support data-intensive industries such as semiconductor design, healthcare, game development, engineering, and manufacturing. These sectors rely heavily on stable, high-speed storage environments to handle large files, virtual machines, databases, and real-time collaborative workloads.
According to Synology Malaysia Country Manager Jason Sin, modern enterprises now depend on storage infrastructure as a core driver of productivity and digital growth. He highlighted that PAS7700 is designed to support current enterprise demands while preparing organisations for future requirements such as AI integration, advanced analytics, and infrastructure expansion.
At its core, the PAS7700 features a dual-controller active-active architecture, allowing both controllers to operate simultaneously. This design ensures uninterrupted service even if one component fails, reducing downtime risks for business-critical operations. The system also incorporates multiple redundancy layers including triple-parity RAID, failover mechanisms, and continuous system monitoring through the Continuous Availability Manager.
In terms of performance, PAS7700 supports up to 2 million IOPS, sub-millisecond latency, and throughput of up to 30 GB/s, powered by NVMe SSD architecture and 100GbE networking. It also supports multiple storage protocols including NVMe-oF, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, SMB, and NFS, making it suitable for diverse enterprise environments.
Data protection remains a key focus, with support for Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs), immutable snapshots, WORM folders, Snapshot Replication, and Hyper Backup. These features are designed to strengthen cyber resilience amid rising security risks, especially as Malaysia’s average data breach cost continues to increase.
The PAS7700 also aims to improve cost efficiency through inline and offline deduplication, reducing storage overhead and extending SSD lifespan. Future updates will introduce tiering capabilities to automatically shift inactive data to lower-cost storage, optimising performance resources for active workloads.
Synology NAS Group Executive Vice President Bie-I Chu stated that the PAS7700 reflects more than 25 years of storage expertise and has been validated through enterprise testing to ensure reliability, scalability, and lower total cost of ownership.
With its launch in Malaysia, Synology continues to strengthen its position in the enterprise storage market, offering a high-performance foundation for organisations navigating increasingly data-driven and AI-enabled operations.
