Genting Malaysia Berhad (GENM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AGIBOT Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co. Ltd to accelerate the use of embodied AI robotics across the leisure, hospitality and entertainment industries.

The agreement was formalised during the AGIBOT Partners Conference 2026 in Shanghai, marking a major milestone for both companies as they explore future-ready robotic solutions for integrated resort environments.

Smarter Guest Experiences Through Robotics

The collaboration combines AGIBOT’s expertise in humanoid robotics with GENM’s experience in large-scale resort operations. Together, both parties aim to develop and commercialise robotics solutions that improve guest engagement, streamline operations and create new entertainment experiences.

The partnership will focus on three key areas:

  • Theme parks
  • Leisure and hospitality
  • Entertainment experiences

Planned applications include humanoid robots for concierge services, guest interaction and service support, as well as robotics integration into live shows and immersive attractions.

Pilot Programmes at Resorts World Genting

As part of the initial rollout, Genting Malaysia will acquire and deploy AGIBOT embodied robots for pilot programmes and operational testing across its properties.

This move is expected to help evaluate how robotics can enhance efficiency while delivering more seamless and memorable guest experiences.

Malaysia’s First Robotics Gala Performance in 2027

During the conference, AGIBOT also announced that Malaysia’s first Robotics Gala Performance will debut at Resorts World Genting in early 2027.

The live showcase is set to feature advanced AI-powered robots in an immersive entertainment production, offering visitors a first-of-its-kind experience in the country.

Driving Innovation in Tourism

Aaron Chia Khong Chid, Chief Operating Officer of Resorts World Genting, said innovation remains central to the company’s strategy in shaping the future of hospitality and entertainment.

He noted that the collaboration with AGIBOT opens new opportunities to redefine how guests interact with resort spaces while strengthening Genting Malaysia’s leadership in tourism innovation.

A New Chapter for AI in Hospitality

With this partnership, Genting Malaysia reinforces its position as a forward-looking player in the regional hospitality industry, while AGIBOT expands its global reach in embodied AI robotics.

The initiative could also help place Malaysia at the forefront of AI-driven tourism experiences in Southeast Asia.
