vivo X500 Series Launches with Major Imaging and Video Upgrades

vivo has officially unveiled its new vivo X500 Series in Shanghai, introducing the vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max as the company’s latest imaging-focused flagship smartphones.

The new series marks the first step in vivo’s broader dynamic imaging strategy, with the company placing greater emphasis on both photography and video. The lineup combines upgraded sensors, imaging processors and software algorithms to improve areas such as dynamic range, colour, stabilisation and professional video recording.

The flagship vivo X500 Pro Max introduces the new vivo × Sony LYTIA L910 sensor, which delivers up to 17 EV ultra-high dynamic range. It also features a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera, with support for the 400mm-equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra.

For video creators, the X500 Pro Max supports 4K 240fps cinematic slow-motion video and 8K Native Live. The phone combines the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro platform with vivo’s V3+ and VS1+ imaging chips to provide additional processing power for high-resolution video creation.

The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max also support 17 EV TrueDynamic Log Video, 10-bit 4:2:2 recording and ACES colour workflows. vivo has partnered with DaVinci to support official colour transformation, allowing Log footage to be processed within professional colour-grading workflows. The phones also support 4K 120fps 10-bit Log output and 4K 120fps autofocus tracking.

For stabilisation, the X500 Pro Max’s ZEISS TrueDynamic Main Camera offers 3-degree gimbal-grade OIS, while both its main and telephoto cameras achieve CIPA 7.0 Professional Stabilization.

The series also introduces six new cinematic video colour styles, including Golden, Platinum, Sunny Day, Paris Afterglow, Noir and Amber. Other video features include 4K Cinematic Portrait Video and several Cinema mode options designed to simplify cinematic-style shooting.

The vivo X500 Pro Max comes with a 6.85-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color Display and a 7,800mAh BlueVolt battery, while the X500 Pro features a 6.36-inch ZEISS Master Color Display and a 6,510mAh battery. Both models are powered by the Dimensity 9600 Pro and run OriginOS 7.

The standard vivo X500 also receives substantial imaging upgrades. It uses the vivo × Sony LYTIA 828 main sensor with gimbal-grade OIS, alongside a 64MP telephoto camera based on the LYTIA 610 sensor. The phone supports 4K 120fps slow motion, 4K 120fps 10-bit Log, 4K 120fps HLG and 4K 60fps Cinematic Portrait Video.

Another feature shared across the X500 lineup is 8K Native Live, designed to provide higher-resolution live content with more consistent colour and image quality.

The vivo X500 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M, paired with a large 7,500mAh BlueVolt battery, 90W FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging. It features a 6.59-inch ZEISS Master Color Display and runs OriginOS 7.

vivo is also introducing new ZEISS telephoto accessories for the series. The 200mm-equivalent ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 weighs 153g and supports multiple shooting scenarios, including portraits, landscapes and stage photography.

The vivo X500 Series is currently expected to arrive in Malaysia in October 2026, although local pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed. More details are expected from vivo Malaysia ahead of the local launch.
