Design, Display & Audio

The Poco F7 Pro features a sleek design with a 6.67-inch OLED display offering a QHD+ resolution, Dolby Vision, HDR10, and a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring vibrant visuals and smooth interactions. The device’s slim bezels contribute to an immersive viewing experience. Overall the brightness can peak up to 3200nits according to the specs.

Build wise, the protection used on the front and the back of the phone is the ever popular Corning Gorilla Glass 7i with the overall device weight measured at 206 grams with thickness at only 8.1mm. It is definitely not the thinnest of all but considering there is a vapor chamber inside the chassis for cooling, this is pretty much very acceptable along with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.

Over to the Audio, the POCO F7 Pro comes with a dual speakers on the phone, but that’s not all, you will enjoy the clear audio delivery that it gets with Dolby Atmos and of course, pre-set and customizable Equalizer within the sound settings, which overall enriches the audio experience to your liking further supported by Snapdragon Sound.
Performance & Software
At its core, the Poco F7 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of internal storage without any external MicroSD card expansion capabilities. As the POCO F7 Pro is using last year’s SOC, it is still plenty capable from the performance and optimization standpoint and this remains competitive even when compared with any phones within the price range.
Software wise, the POCO F7 Pro is running on the latest Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 for POCO with Android 15, bringing in the latest enhancements from the base AOSP along with lesser bloatware but still retains most of the core HyperOS base functions, so basically if you are used with the current Xiaomi or POCO ecosystem, then this will be more improved and even smoother as this is updated.

Furthermore this is complemented by Smart Frame Rate and WildBoost Optimisation 4.0 technologies. This combination is designed to enhance gaming performance, providing users with a seamless and responsive experience.
Benchmarks

Battery and Charging

Equipped with a substantial 6,000mAh battery, the Poco F7 Pro supports 90W fast charging, allowing for rapid recharging and extended usage periods. In a normal scenario, under full charge the phone can easily last you over one to two days without issues. The only downside that it misses wireless charging capabilities however the large battery capacity and fast charging makes up to it.
Camera System

Camera wise, the POCO F7 Pro came with a 50MP main sensor with OIS, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. On the front camera side, it is equipped with a 20MP lens.
I will be straight forward with my expectations initially that the POCO F7 Pro objective is always targeting towards performance and not photography, however with good camera hardware and software optimization combined, it is managed to produced very satisfying quality images during day time and closed up object with very minor saturation only. While during low light night photography, the POCO F7 Pro is capable of producing reasonable photo quality with minor noise and minor oversaturation.
Lastly since this is driven by a dated by still powerful SOC, it can record video at a maximum of 8K at 24FPS or 4K at 60FPS with good frame pacing and very minimal stutter observed during the course of the review.
Verdict & Conclusion
The Poco F7 Pro is shaping up to be a formidable contender in the flagship smartphone arena, offering a harmonious blend of performance, display quality, and battery longevity. Prospective buyers should stay tuned for the official launch to gain comprehensive insights into its features and capabilities. While it’s strongest suit is definitely not the camera, however everything else makes up for it and I can easily recommend this phone just because of the price alone with a formidable SOC that is still performing and up to any tasks till this very day.
