Lazada has announced strong performance from its recent Birthday Sale campaign, with LazMall leading the charge through significant growth across Southeast Asia. LazMall Leads with Strong Growth Momentum

During the campaign, Lazada recorded an overall 3.5x increase in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) across the region compared to non-campaign periods. Malaysia stood out as one of the top-performing markets, achieving:

  • 5.5x overall platform GMV growth
  • 12x LazMall GMV growth, outperforming the regional average

Regionally, LazMall achieved a six-fold increase in GMV, reinforcing the growing demand for official brand stores and authentic products. LazMall also contributed significantly to total sales, accounting for:

  • 60% of overall GMV
  • 41% of total orders

  • Groceries – 21x growth
  • Beauty – 15x growth

This indicates that consumers are not only making big-ticket purchases but also relying on the platform for daily essentials, showcasing increased confidence in online shopping.

AI-Powered Features Drive Smarter Purchases

Artificial intelligence played a key role in enhancing the shopping experience during the campaign. Lazada’s AI assistant, Lazzie, and related tools helped users make faster, more informed decisions.

Key highlights include:

  • Nearly US$3 million in GMV generated through AI-driven interactions
  • Around 100,000 users completed purchases via AI assistance
  • SmartStack feature attracted 2.5 million daily users, with traffic rising 38%
  • User engagement with AI tools increased significantly, with 4x more active users and double the interaction frequency
