HONOR Magic V6 Sets ASIA Record After Towing Aircraft Ahead of Malaysia Launch
HONOR has officially confirmed that its next-generation foldable flagship, the HONOR Magic V6, will launch in Malaysia on 4 June 2026. Ahead of its debut, the device earned an ASIA Record for the “Heaviest Aircraft Towed by a Foldable Smartphone.”
During a showcase event at SkyPark Regional Aviation Centre, the HONOR Magic V6 successfully pulled a 1.25-tonne Diamond DA42 aircraft across 150 metres using its reinforced Super Steel Hinge. The foldable also towed a Ferrari sports car for 30 metres and was even used as a pull-up bar demonstration, emerging without visible damage or functional issues.
Super Steel Hinge Built for Extreme Durability

The Magic V6 features HONOR’s upgraded Super Steel Hinge with a tensile strength of 2,800 MPa, designed to handle intensive folding usage. HONOR says the hinge has passed 500,000 folding cycle tests, equivalent to more than 13 years of daily use.
An AI-assisted bionic cushioning system is also integrated to better absorb impact forces and protect internal components during drops.
Tougher Displays with Enhanced Protection
The outer display is protected by the new HONOR Anti-Scratch Nano Crystal Shield, featuring a 5,600-layer silicon nitride coating for improved drop and scratch resistance. HONOR claims:
- 10x better drop resistance
- 15x better scratch resistance
- 3x improved anti-reflection performance
Meanwhile, the inner display uses the HONOR Magic Diamond Screen with Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) technology for improved durability and a minimal crease appearance.
First Foldable with IP68 and IP69 Ratings
The HONOR Magic V6 is also one of the first foldable smartphones to feature both IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings, with support for water resistance up to 1.5 metres deep.

The HONOR Magic V6 will be available in:
