As the year comes to a close (very soon), this is normally the season for new hardware to appear, boasting all the performance, power, and FPS statistics that compel buyers to learn more and maybe purchase one as an upgrade.

We’ll take a quick look at the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, one of two AMD offerings (along with the AIB) and part of AMD’s latest Radeon series of GPU that brings in the new RDNA 3 GPU architecture, which arrives in our lab for performance benchmarks and testing alongside our new test companion motherboards, processors, and memory to pair with and keep the fierce GPU competitions on par.

To begin, this card competes with Nvidia’s new RTX 4080 and 4090, putting the RX 7900 XTX among the top tier level GPU capable of delivering insane framerates for almost all games at a slightly lower price tag, while AMD still brings in several new features under the RDNA3 GPU architecture, such as having an 8K display while still enjoying up to 165Hz refresh rate, as well as game developers bringing in new updates to existing games to support. We’ll list some of the important features of the new RX series below under features in summary so you can have a look.

Verdict & thoughts

This is aimed at individuals who really wanted the newest from the Radeon portfolio, yet latest featured, with all the raw rendering, gaming power that the card truly has, and it is even somewhat less than the competitor brand that just released not too long ago. Back to gaming performance stats, you can easily game up to acceptable high framerates above 90FPS even in 4K when paired with the Intel 11th generation i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 5000 series and higher across all triple A titles.

If you utilise it for rendering, encoding/decoding, it will undoubtedly crush through with the support of main codecs that are commonly used. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade from the NVIDIA mid-tier 30 series cards lower or AMD’s Radeon 6000 series and older, just make sure to match with a reasonably capable processor and you’ll be fine. From a financial aspect, if you are on your way to obtaining a flagship graphics card, you might want to add this to your list, as it is believed that from a price to performance standpoint, this is marginally feasible and slightly reasonable compared to the current flagship cards. Overall if you a streamer, you have a pretty broad headroom with OBS and the games you wish to play on.

Pricing and Availability
