DHL Supply Chain, the global contract logistics leader, has been appointed by Bosch to manage its new Distribution Centre (DC) in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The facility will support Bosch’s consumer goods and mobility-related products across Malaysia and occasionally to other regional markets.

Strategically located to support efficient logistics operations, the Shah Alam DC is poised for integration with Industry 4.0 technologies, including Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Pick-to-Light and Put-to-Light systems, and real-time inventory tracking. These features will help streamline operations, boost flexibility, and meet the complex demands of modern supply chains.

Mario Lorenz, Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Malaysia, stated,

“This partnership is a strategic move as Malaysia strengthens its role as a logistics hub in Southeast Asia. DHL aims to deliver tailored, tech-driven solutions that enhance efficiency and bolster competitiveness for Bosch both locally and globally.”

The announcement underscores DHL Supply Chain’s commitment to expanding its innovation-led logistics footprint in Malaysia. This includes the recent opening of Penang Logistics Hub 5, which features the world’s first deployment of Automated Case-handling Mobile Robots (ACR) and Goods-to-Person Robotics (GTPR) alongside an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS). Covering 22,000 sqm, the Penang hub serves a major multinational tech client and is located within the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone near Penang International Airport.

Through this latest appointment and continued investment in automation, DHL Supply Chain reaffirms its role in driving Malaysia’s ambitions in digital transformation and Industry 4.0 logistics excellence.
