Samsung Malaysia has officially announced the availability of the Sleep Apnea feature on the Galaxy Watch series through the Samsung Health Monitor app, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s mission to empower users with advanced health monitoring tools.
The rollout follows the feature’s Medical Device Registration Certificate approval from the Medical Device Authority (MDA) Malaysia, affirming Samsung’s compliance with strict safety and health standards. This certification further establishes Samsung’s leadership in digital health innovation.
The feature has also been approved by multiple health authorities worldwide, including Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA), Brazil’s ANVISA, Health Canada, and Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, following its De Novo authorization from the U.S. FDA — the first for a wearable device capable of detecting signs of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea.
