Snapdragon X Elite Powers Googlebooks, a New Laptop Category Built for Gemini

Qualcomm Technologies has announced a collaboration with Google to bring the Snapdragon X Elite platform to Googlebooks, a new category of premium laptops designed around Google’s Gemini Intelligence.

The new laptops combine Snapdragon X Elite’s performance, power efficiency and AI capabilities with Google’s Gemini-powered features, aiming to deliver more personalised and proactive computing experiences. They also support cross-device integration with Snapdragon-powered Android smartphones and tablets, including native Android apps and games.

Googlebooks are designed to keep users productive through features such as Cast my Apps, Magic Pointer and Rambler, which can surface relevant information from applications, calendars, emails and on-screen content. The platform also enables seamless interaction between Googlebooks and compatible Android devices while providing integrated security features.

With Snapdragon X Elite’s built-in NPU, Googlebooks can handle AI workloads efficiently while maintaining long battery life. Users can also access thousands of native Android applications and games, with Snapdragon Elite Gaming features providing enhanced graphics and faster frame rates for supported titles.

Qualcomm said the partnership with Google builds on Snapdragon X Elite’s existing focus on AI-powered personal computing, while extending the Snapdragon ecosystem across laptops, smartphones and tablets.

Dell and HP are the first manufacturers to introduce Googlebook models powered by Snapdragon X Elite. The HP Googlebook 14, for example, combines the Snapdragon platform with Gemini Intelligence and native Android app support in a premium laptop design.

The first Snapdragon X Elite-powered Googlebooks are now available for pre-order, with Dell and HP leading the initial rollout.
