Qualcomm Technologies has announced the new Snapdragon C Platform, a processor designed specifically for entry-level laptops, aiming to deliver a more capable and efficient computing experience for students, families, and small businesses.

Positioned for laptops priced from approximately USD300 (around RM1,189.80) and above, the Snapdragon C Platform focuses on providing dependable everyday performance while maintaining excellent power efficiency. The new platform is expected to power upcoming devices from major PC manufacturers including Acer, HP, and Lenovo.

Built for Everyday Productivity

The Snapdragon C Platform is engineered to handle common computing tasks such as web browsing, video streaming, online learning, office productivity, and video conferencing. Qualcomm says the platform is designed to deliver smooth and responsive performance for users who require reliable computing for daily activities.

In addition to its processing capabilities, the platform incorporates an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), enabling AI-powered features in affordable laptop segments. This inclusion brings advanced AI functionality to a broader range of users, making intelligent computing experiences more accessible.

Focus on Battery Life and Efficiency

One of the key highlights of Snapdragon C is its emphasis on power efficiency. Qualcomm has designed the platform to support extended battery life while maintaining portability, helping users stay productive throughout the day without constantly searching for a charger.

The processor also enables cool and quiet laptop designs, reducing heat generation and fan noise during everyday use. This makes it suitable for environments such as classrooms, home offices, and customer-facing business settings where silent operation can enhance the overall user experience.

Expanding Access to Modern Computing

According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon C Platform is intended to address growing demand for affordable yet capable computing devices. By combining responsive performance, AI capabilities, and long battery life in cost-effective laptops, the company aims to broaden access to modern PC experiences.

Kedar Kondap, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Compute and Gaming at Qualcomm Technologies, stated that Snapdragon C brings together value-focused computing, AI functionality, responsive performance, and all-day battery life in cool and quiet devices. He added that the platform expands options for manufacturers while helping deliver reliable and efficient technology to a wider range of users, including students, families, and small businesses.

Availability

Laptops powered by the new Snapdragon C Platform are expected to become available from leading OEM partners later this year, offering consumers more affordable choices in the Windows laptop market while benefiting from Qualcomm’s efficiency-focused computing architecture.
