Hisense and East Timor Partner to Drive Digitalisation and Sustainable Development
Hisense Group has officially signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with the East Timor government in Dili, marking a major step toward advancing digitalisation and sustainable development in the region.
The partnership will focus on key sectors including smart energy, smart homes, digital education, automotive electronics, and smart transportation. The collaboration aims to integrate Hisense’s technologies into real-world infrastructure and public services to support East Timor’s modernisation efforts.
The signing ceremony was attended by East Timor Deputy Prime Minister Francisco Kalbuadi Lay and Hisense Group Chairman Jia Shaoqian. The agreement follows earlier discussions between both parties during East Timor’s official visit to China in April.
As ASEAN’s newest member state since October 2025, East Timor is actively accelerating economic diversification and infrastructure development. Hisense stated that the partnership reflects growing recognition of the company’s technological capabilities and long-term regional strategy.
The ASEAN market continues to be one of Hisense’s fastest-growing regions, with strong expansion across countries including Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. From January to April 2026 alone, Hisense reported a 37.7% increase in brand business growth across the ASEAN region.
Hisense said the new collaboration with East Timor further strengthens its commitment to expanding smart technology solutions and sustainable innovation throughout Southeast Asia.
