SPX Express (SPX), a leading logistics partner across Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Brazil, has officially launched its new Bukit Raja Selatan Sorting Centre in Selangor. The ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications.
The 30,000-square-metre facility, backed by a RM63.2 million (USD 15 million) investment, features Advanced Automated Sorting Machines (ASM) that enhance nationwide delivery efficiency and scalability. Capable of handling up to two million parcels daily, the new hub strengthens Malaysia’s supply chain network and supports the nation’s digital economy goals under the 13th Malaysia Plan.
“The new Bukit Raja Selatan Sorting Centre reflects our commitment to continuous innovation in logistics operations,” said Cheah Lee Sun, Head of SPX. “With in-house technology capable of sorting parcels to over 200 destinations, we’re connecting businesses and customers more efficiently than ever.”
Driving Smarter Logistics
The facility integrates AI and IoT technologies to optimize parcel processing and improve delivery speeds by up to 2.2 times. With this expansion, SPX increases its total nationwide processing capacity by 80%, while reducing inbound-to-outbound times to under eight hours — ensuring faster, more reliable deliveries for both small businesses and consumers.
Creating New Opportunities
Beyond technology, SPX’s new facility will create 1,000 new jobs, with 60% of employees receiving advanced training in automation. This initiative not only boosts local employment but also helps develop a highly skilled logistics workforce, supporting Malaysia’s vision of a high-tech, innovation-driven economy.
“Innovation in logistics is also about people,” added Lee Sun. “This new hub strengthens Malaysia’s digital economy by nurturing talent and helping small businesses expand their reach nationwide.”
As e-commerce continues to grow, SPX plans to further invest in strategic infrastructure and cutting-edge technology to enhance logistics capabilities and deliver faster, more accessible services to Malaysians across the country.
