World Table Tennis (WTT), PICO, a leader in virtual reality, and Intel have officially announced the launch of PICO x Intel WTT E-Smash 2025, an all-new VR competition debuting alongside China Smash 2025 at Beijing’s Shougang Park. This groundbreaking collaboration fuses the heritage of table tennis with the innovation of immersive VR, redefining how the sport is played, watched, and experienced.
Table tennis is deeply ingrained in China’s sporting culture, while VR esports are rapidly becoming one of the most exciting frontiers in competition. Backed by WTT’s sporting expertise, PICO’s VR innovation, and Intel’s computing power, E-Smash 2025 is designed to push the boundaries of competitive sport by creating a unique ecosystem where athletes, gamers, and fans converge.
Competition Format
The global event unfolds across three stages:
- Global Registration: 25 August – 2 September 2025
- Global Online Qualifiers: 4 – 14 September 2025
- Finals: 5 October 2025, held at Beijing’s Shougang Park alongside the China Smash Finals
Fans can also explore a dedicated PICO VR zone at Shougang Park from 25 September to 5 October, offering 10 days of interactive and immersive VR experiences.

Running Parallel with China Smash 2025
While China Smash 2025 (25 September – 5 October) will showcase the world’s top athletes competing in Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, the PICO x Intel WTT E-Smash 2025 runs in parallel as a bold digital extension of the championship.
