HUAWEI has never been stopping on releasing their innovative smartphones. But it is also quite a while since they launch the nova 9 a few months back, the day has finally come and today we will look at nova 9 SE, a phone that is newly unveiled that comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad Core SOC. Lets go thru the unboxing of the HUAWEI nova 9 SE that we have on hand now.

The HUAWEI nova 9 SE comes in a white color box. Upon unboxing you will get the following as below

Do take note that nova 9 does not come with 3.5mm headphone jack or converter in the box, however its pretty easy to get one at any of your favorite phone accessories shop, or if you have a current one lying around from any of the brand or generic ones, you can use it back as well with no issues. However HUAWEI still provides at least a charger for it’s consumers as some manufacturers stops to include charger in the box.

Color Choices

The nova 9 comes in three colors, Midnight Black, Pearl White, Crystal Blue. The color that we got for the unboxing is the Blue color, which is has a very unique Blue with shiny all over the back of the phone with smooth textures, and shines when under the light. This is a lightweight phone with a weight of just 191 grams with slight curves on both sides of the display. Overall impression looks elegant with a smooth glass like finish on top.

The Design, Look and Feel

The nova 9 SE weighs at 191 Grams, with daily handling the phone comfortably to be used with one hand navigation on a 7.9mm depth, making it slim as well. The nova 9 SE features a 6.78 inch flat (both sides) IPS display with 90Hz refresh rate that makes it a smooth sailing when scrolling thru webpages, gaming and streaming. Using it under bright sunlight works great with good screen pixel density of 387 PPI .

Looking at the back of the phone you will spot an island of lenses consisting of one 108MP wide lens, one 8MP ultrawide lens, one 2MP depth lens and one 2MP lens with macro capability followed by a camera flash. Over to the front side, which is the main display there is one 16MP wide angle camera, perfect for those who likes to take a lot of selfies. All of the camera in the phone is able to capture wide angle images. Specifically over the rear camera you have a choice of video recording up to 1080P capped at 30FPS with the aspect ratio options up to 16:9.

Performance

Over to the performance side, the nova 9 SE is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G Octa Core SOC, with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM. At such configuration this is an affordable Mid tier with some flagship features that ensures it handles the imaging capture reasonably well with its surrounding competitions with good optimizations over multitasking, gaming and productivity. The 90Hz display will give you the responsiveness you need on browsing and daily tasks. On top of that you will also get a pleasant and good audio experience.

Overall on my few days of impression with the nova 9 SE, it is a phone that is suitable for those who wanted a device that is seeking for it’s social media integrated photography capabilities, high resolution image capture with multiple modes to select from and on it’s gaming performance with balanced multi-tasking app switching swiftly on its 8GB RAM with Qualcomm’s Octa Core Processor.
