Introduction

OPPO has introduce one of the entry level Smartphone to the market, the OPPO A95, a device specifically focuses on a basic practical Smartphone should have with no complications and suited towards today standards as well based on the component and specifications fit to it.

Let’s look at the OPPO A95 now and see what it can do to actually fits towards everyone’s need with its chipset performance as well.

Design

The OPPO A95 design is built akin to any standard Smartphone that is targeted with the similar price, which from the back of the phone and sides is covered seamlessly with hard built plastic that shows some durability that is able to withstand minor drops and scratches can hold thanks to it’s not glossy behind of the phone which is completely matte. That also shows it should not have fingerprint stains, and if there is, it is easy to wipe it away with just a soft cloth that you can practically find it everywhere.

Being said, for a budget entry device, you still practically get the whole set to start with and over the headphone part, you can just simply can any 3.5mm headphone or Bluetooth headset and connect to it. This also mean if you are connected over a wired headset, you do not need to use a USB C to 3.5mm jack converter.

Continuing on the sides, on the right hand side, there is a power button while on the left side houses the Dual SIM/MicroSD card slot, Volume UP/Down buttons. The bottom portion houses the 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone, USB C slot for data/charging and a single loudspeaker. While it just has a single speaker setup, it is loud enough for everyday use.

The OPPO A95 comes in two colors, Glowing Starry Black and Glowing Rainbow Silver which carries the weight of 175 Grams. Personally the weight is just right overall with good device body ratio holding on to my hands.

Display

Over the display side of view, the OPPO A95 is powered by a 6.43 Inch FHD+ AMOLED screen up to 60Hz. Display is spot on with visible accuracy and average contrast level which OPPO selected AMOLED that really fits on the screen form size factor on the lower tier price range level. While it lacks higher refresh rate display, 60Hz is pretty enough for most day to day operation. Touchscreen response works well especially during scrolling and gaming. On top of that with the density of 409PPI, you will enjoy the best of display with accurate colors when streaming your favorite movies or even scrolling over web pages.

Camera

When it comes to the camera portion, the OPPO A95 rear camera consists of one 48MP camera with PDAF, one 2MP depth camera and a 2MP macro lens, followed by a single LED flash. Pictures taken were clear during day with good amount of light and clarity produced on each picture. During night shots, it came out not too bad as well with visible shadows and contrasts that is depending on surrounding situation. The selfie images are bright and good during day time as well which is powered by a 16MP wide angle lens , A few shots were taken over different modes as above and the result truly works well. A sample of 10x zoom, normal and automatic shots taken were balanced, with some noise present. Besides that other modes such as Panorama and Macro shots mode are also supported over the rear camera.

On video recording you get support up to 1080P at 30FPS, stutters are visible while recording but it’s very minor with average details during recording.

Performance

Performance portion under the hood, the OPPO A95 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 Octa-Core Processor, 128GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM. Call quality test shows little to no issues with a choice of calling via VOLTE or WOWIFI depending on your Telco Carrier. Once 3G towers shutting down by end of this year, this device should have no effect on your daily use. The phone does come with 4G connectivity support, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5. Testing over WiFi connection gets up to an average of 433MBPS transfer speeds, ensuring blazing fast speed for multimedia and streaming.

Over to the gaming side, basically this phone will perform well on games such as Mobile Legends and Call of Duty Mobile with low mix medium settings applied and with such good weight balance, gaming is good holding on the phone.

Battery performance wise, you will get around 10 hours of it, a mix of calls, surfing, email, streaming, and a few Call Of Duty matches. Turning on the battery saving mode under 20% will get you around extra 2 hours of conservative usage. The OPPO A95 is a device that is generally for those who are seeking for a no nonsense phone with a lightweight profile, great to hold yet still has almost all of a smartphone features needed.
