Huawei successfully wrapped up the Global Final of the Huawei ICT Competition 2024–2025 in Shenzhen today, marking the conclusion of its ninth and most impactful edition yet. This year’s event set new records, with over 210,000 participants from more than 2,000 universities across 100+ countries and regions. After rigorous national and regional rounds, 179 top teams from 48 countries advanced to the prestigious Global Final.
Recognizing Excellence in ICT Innovation and Skills
The global finals featured three main tracks — Practice, Innovation, and Programming — designed to equip students with real-world tech skills. In total, 18 teams from 9 countries took home Grand Prizes, showcasing their expertise across multiple disciplines.
Grand Prize winners of the Innovation Track included teams from:
- Bulacan State University (Philippines)
- Beijing University of Technology (China)
- University of Kragujevac (Serbia)
- Moulay Ismail University, Errachidia (Morocco)
Universiti Sains Malaysia earned a First Prize for their standout entry in the Innovation category.
In the Practice Track:
- Network Track Grand Prizes went to teams from China, Brazil, Nigeria, and Tanzania.
- Cloud Track winners hailed from the Philippines, Algeria, China, and Singapore.
- Computing Track honors went to teams from China, Nigeria, Algeria, and the Philippines.
- Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Malaysia) earned Third Prize in the Computing Track.
The Programming Track Grand Prize was awarded to a team from Shenzhen Polytechnic University (China).
Special Awards Highlight Diversity and Social Impact
In addition to technical achievements, Huawei recognized contributions that promote inclusion and sustainability:
- The Women in Tech Award was presented to all-female teams from Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and Kenya.
- The Green Development Award went to a team from Ghana for environmentally conscious innovation.
- 18 instructors from 10 countries received the Most Valuable Instructor Award for their dedication to ICT education.
Paving the Way for AI-Enhanced Learning
During the event, Huawei hosted the AI Accelerating Education Transformation Summit, emphasizing how AI is transforming smart education worldwide. The company also introduced the AI Capability of the Huawei ICT Academy Intelligent Platform, aimed at making learning more efficient for students and teachers.
Ritchie Peng, Director of ICT Strategy & Business Development at Huawei, highlighted the competition’s evolving role in bridging the global digital talent gap. “This competition is not just about winning—it’s about learning, innovating, and preparing for the intelligent world of tomorrow,” he said.
