The Xiaomi 13 Series, co-engineered with Leica, is now available in Malaysia.

Xiaomi revealed its newest flagship smartphone range for Malaysia, the Xiaomi 13 Series. Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro seek to provide a brand-new smartphone photographic experience to foreign consumers through in-depth product collaborations between Xiaomi and Leica as part of the Strategic Partnership in Imaging Technology. The highly anticipated dual flagship models are proudly co-engineered with Leica and feature Leica professional optical lenses, as well as a slew of advanced computational and software capabilities to round out an authentic Leica experience. Other luxury features include the newest Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 processor and Xiaomi’s own Surge battery management system, which ensures powerful performance on all fronts.

Master-level photos with a camera device co-engineered by Leica

The camera system on the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, from hardware and picture clarity to UI/UX design, was developed in cooperation with Leica to provide a pro-grade smartphone shooting experience. Both devices feature a triple camera setup with Leica optical optics.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro’s Leica Vario-Summicron 1:19-2.2/14-75 ASPH camera system has focal lengths ranging from 14mm to 75mm and includes a 23mm wide-angle primary camera with an ultra-large 1-inch IMX989 sensor, a 75mm floating zoom camera, and a 14mm ultra-wide angle camera. The IMX989 sensor, first seen on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, is the biggest sensor ever integrated into a smartphone. The large sensor, with its high dynamic range, excellent light-capturing capabilities, and quick responses, guarantees colourful pictures with distinct contrast and defined textures that show every minute detail. The smartphone’s new 75mm telephoto lens uses a floating lens design and DSLR-level internal focusing technology to reach a focal range of 10cm to infinity – ideal for composing spectacular photos and close-ups.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi 13 has an optical zoom range of 0.6x to 3.2x, and also features a 75mm telephoto lens.

The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro have a plethora of comprehensive camera settings that will appeal to both amateur and expert photographers. The master-lens system, a software feature, offers excellent focal length and depth of field for shooting ideal portraits. Users can also choose between two distinct photography styles, Leica Authentic Look and Leica Vibrant Look, which offer artistic possibilities with images that keep accuracy and offer modest saturation. More entertaining features include Leica Filters, the Leica watermark, and the Leica iconic shutter sound, all with an attractive and easy-to-use UI.

Both smartphones offer excellent picture optimization and enable direct modification of shooting settings in pro mode. Xiaomi 13 Pro supports 10-Bit RAW DNG Camera and Adobe Color Profiles, giving pros more post-editing space in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.

The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are also excellent video cameras. Both devices are excellent tools for professional filmmakers, allowing users to “Create in Dolby Vision®” with vibrant colours, precise contrast ratios, and rich details, record 4K Ultra Night Videos, and offer HyperOIS video stabilisation for outstanding video quality.

The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are both powered by the leading Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, with enhanced graphics processing via a GPU performance and power efficiency improvement of 42% and 49%, respectively, compared to the previous generation, and CPU performance and power efficiency improvements of 37% and 47%, respectively. This powerful performance ensures simplicity and speed when managing chores like computational photography, real-time Intelligence, and gameplay, while also extending daily battery life.

With the Qualcomm® FastConnectTM 7800 Mobile Networking Technology, it also supports Wi-Fi 7. The Xiaomi 13 Pro’s High Band Simultaneous (HBS) Multi-Link technology provides for numerous and simultaneous 5GHz and 6GHz links, as well as ultra-high speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps, low latency, and excellent network capacity. 2 The Xiaomi 13, on the other hand, supports Dual Band Simultaneous (DBS) Multi-Link functioning and can achieve network rates of up to 3.6Gbps.

Both the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro have a new minimalistic design language that highlights their powerful technical powers.

Xiaomi 13 comes in three traditional and appealing colours: Black, White, and Flora Green. It has a stylish flat screen design with smooth edges and a 2.5D curved back. The Xiaomi 13 is both appealing and easy to handle, with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.3% and 1.61mm ultra-thin bezels and chin4, delivering an amazing viewing experience, particularly for a device this size. With a big 6.36″ FHD+ AMOLED display and the E6 AMOLED material, the Xiaomi 13 guarantees content is presented in top colour fidelity and luminosity while consuming less power.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro, on the other hand, has a 3D-curved ceramic body for a consistent appearance that moves easily, particularly into camera mode. Starting March 8, the Xiaomi 13 Series will be sold in Malaysia at authorised Xiaomi shops, official Xiaomi merchants, and online at official stores on Lazada and Shopee.

Xiaomi 13 will be offered in three colours: black, white, and floral green, with a storage version of 12GB+256GB.

Whereas the Xiaomi 13 Pro comes in two colours – Ceramic Black and Ceramic White – and two storage versions, 12GB+256GB and a special edition package for the 12GB+512GB storage option.
