HONOR X9e Pro Survives Four Military-Inspired Extreme Toughness Challenges
HONOR Malaysia has put the HONOR X9e Pro through four military-inspired challenges designed to demonstrate its durability and water resistance under extreme conditions.
The commercial series takes the smartphone through jungle survival and fieldcraft, precision shooting, a military-style obstacle course and an underwater endurance challenge. Across the tests, the device is exposed to drops, hard impacts, mud and prolonged water exposure while remaining operational.
The first challenge places the X9e Pro in a jungle environment, where it is dropped onto a rock, falls into water and is even used to crack open a coconut. The smartphone’s Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology 4.0 is designed to withstand drops of up to 3 metres while reducing screen damage by up to 82%. Its durability is also backed by SGS 5-Star Certification for Drop Resistance in Harsh Conditions.

The second challenge focuses on display protection, with the phone placed in a precision shooting environment. HONOR highlights its use of high-energy shear-resistant adhesive across the display, providing around 10 times greater bonding strength. Combined with the reinforced structure and anti-drop technology, this contributes to an additional 0.5-metre increase in overall drop resistance.

For the third challenge, the X9e Pro joins participants through a military-style obstacle course involving climbing and crawling. The device takes another drop onto a hard surface before being covered in mud, yet continues to function normally.
The final challenge takes the phone underwater for five minutes. Participants must complete a series of tasks involving freeing their hands, carrying a 6kg dumbbell and retrieving the submerged smartphone. The X9e Pro itself acts as the countdown timer throughout the challenge.

The smartphone features IP68, IP69 and IP69K water resistance, supported by a submarine-inspired multi-compartment design. HONOR says the device can withstand controlled water exposure at depths of up to 10 metres, offering protection against situations such as heavy rain, spills and accidental drops into water.
While the military-inspired scenarios go well beyond typical smartphone use, HONOR says the tests are intended to demonstrate how its durability technologies can help users deal with everyday accidents.
