China Mobile and Huawei Win Dual GLOMO Awards at MWC Shanghai 2026 for AI-Powered RAN Innovation

China Mobile and Huawei have secured two prestigious GSMA GLOMO Awards at MWC Shanghai 2026, recognizing their joint innovation in next-generation mobile network intelligence.

The companies received awards for Best AI-Powered Network Solution and Best Mobile Innovation for Climate Action in Asia for their RAN Intelligence solution, which integrates artificial intelligence into radio access network (RAN) operations to improve performance, efficiency, and sustainability.

The solution combines advanced technologies including digital twin capabilities and the industry’s first A2A-T agent interaction protocol, enabling secure collaboration between China Mobile’s RAN agent and Huawei’s intelligent network platform. It also adopts a multi-model AI framework that blends open-source and proprietary models to optimize performance while introducing a carrier-grade hallucination elimination mechanism to improve reliability.

China Mobile and Huawei have already deployed pilot projects across six provinces in China, including Guangdong, Shanghai, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangsu, and Henan. The rollout currently supports over 200,000 sites and one million cells, assisting more than 2,000 network engineers.

The implementation has delivered measurable outcomes, including a 15% automatic closure rate for poor network experience tickets, 5.5% additional network-wide energy savings, and 90% service provisioning accuracy.

Chen Shi, Vice President of Marketing for Huawei’s Wireless Network Product Line, said the awards reflect industry recognition of both companies’ efforts in advancing intelligent and autonomous mobile networks for the AI era.

During MWC Shanghai 2026, Huawei also showcased its latest connectivity, AI, and 5G-A innovations at Hall N1 of the Shanghai New International Expo Center, highlighting continued efforts to help operators unlock new growth opportunities through enhanced network intelligence and compute integration.
