Xiaomi 17T Series Officially Launches in Malaysia with Leica 5x Telephoto Cameras and Bigger Batteries

Xiaomi Malaysia has officially unveiled the new Xiaomi 17T Series in Malaysia, introducing the Xiaomi 17T Pro and Xiaomi 17T with upgraded Leica imaging systems, larger batteries, eye-care displays, and dual-size form factors for the first time in the Xiaomi T Series lineup.

Positioned as “The Telephoto Master,” the Xiaomi 17T Series brings Leica-powered telephoto capabilities to both models, combining flagship photography features with all-day battery life and premium display technology.

Leica 5x Telephoto Camera Comes to Both Models

The Xiaomi 17T Series features a triple-camera setup led by a 50MP main camera paired with Leica optics and Xiaomi’s imaging technology. The Xiaomi 17T Pro uses a larger 1/1.31-inch sensor, while the Xiaomi 17T features a 1/1.55-inch sensor.

For the first time in the T Series lineup, both devices include a Leica 5x telephoto camera capable of capturing 50MP images with OIS support. The system supports macro photography as close as 30cm, 10x optical-grade zoom, and up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom.

Xiaomi also introduced the new Leica Live Moment feature, designed to capture motion and emotion before and after a still image. The feature works across all rear camera focal lengths and includes new Leica-inspired watermarks and shareable collage options.

Exclusive to the Xiaomi 17T Pro is 4K 60fps cinematic recording with natural background bokeh, alongside additional live cinematography features including Ultra-HD Live Moment recording and Freestyle zoom effects.

Eye-Care AMOLED Displays with TÜV Rheinland Certifications

The Xiaomi 17T Pro and Xiaomi 17T both feature 1.5K AMOLED displays with up to 3500 nits peak brightness.

Xiaomi says the new Xiaomi Vision Care technology dynamically adjusts display settings based on ambient lighting while managing blue light, flicker, and motion blur for improved viewing comfort. The series becomes Xiaomi’s first smartphone lineup to receive TÜV Rheinland quadruple eye-care certification alongside the brand’s first TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care certification.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate with ultra-slim 1.29mm symmetrical bezels enabled by Xiaomi’s LIPO packaging technology. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T adopts a more compact and lightweight design focused on one-handed usability.

Massive Silicon-Carbon Batteries and Fast Charging

Battery life sees major improvements across the lineup with next-generation silicon-carbon battery technology.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro features a massive 7000mAh battery, making it Xiaomi’s largest international-market smartphone battery to date. Xiaomi claims it delivers an average of 1.88 days of usage for typical users. The device supports 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T packs a 6500mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge support.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset built on a 3nm process, while the Xiaomi 17T uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra processor based on a 4nm architecture.

Both smartphones also feature Xiaomi’s 3D IceLoop cooling system for improved thermal management during gaming and intensive workloads.

Xiaomi 17T Series Exhibition at KL Festival 2026

In conjunction with the launch, Xiaomi Malaysia will host “A Visual Journey with Xiaomi 17T Series” exhibition during KL Festival 2026 from 30 May to 1 June 2026 at Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad.

Xiaomi also introduced the “Travel with Xiaomi 17T Series” campaign running from 29 May to 30 June 2026. Customers who purchase the Xiaomi 17T Series can participate for a chance to win travel vouchers worth up to RM20,000, with a total prize pool valued at RM120,000.
