Southeast Asia’s Fastest Gran Turismo Players to Compete
Adding a regional element to the championship, Gran Turismo 7 players from across Southeast Asia and East Asia will have the opportunity to compete in the Singapore Regional Time Trial Challenge, which will be held in-game this August.
Eligible participants from:
- Singapore
- Malaysia
- Indonesia
- Thailand
- Hong Kong
- Taiwan
- South Korea
will battle for the fastest lap times, with the top Singaporean player joined by the fastest racers from each participating territory to compete live on stage during the Singapore Regional Gran Turismo Cup.
The support race will give regional sim racers a rare opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a live audience alongside some of the world’s best Gran Turismo competitors.
A Major Milestone for Southeast Asian Sim Racing
The Singapore event marks the first time the Gran Turismo World Series will be hosted in Southeast Asia, highlighting the region’s growing motorsport and gaming culture.
Singapore Tourism Board Director of Sports, Lilian Chee, said the event further strengthens Singapore’s reputation as a destination for international sporting and entertainment events.
“As an elite sim racing tournament, the highly regarded Gran Turismo World Series reinforces Singapore’s position as a premier destination for world-class sporting and entertainment events. We look forward to the energy and excitement that Round 3 will bring to our city as the penultimate round, adding further vibrancy to this year’s Grand Prix™ Season Singapore,” she said.
Gran Turismo Series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi also shared his excitement about bringing the event to the region.
“Singapore is a great place to visit and so we hope that fans of Gran Turismo from across the region will be able to come and watch our top racers in action,” he commented.
He added that the regional Time Trial would also help discover new sim racing talent from Southeast Asia and potentially inspire future competitors to enter the global Gran Turismo World Series.
Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup Also Featured
In addition to the Singapore Regional Gran Turismo Cup, fans attending the event will also witness the world’s top sim racers competing in both the Manufacturers Cup and Nations Cup.
The Singapore round serves as the final points-scoring event before the Gran Turismo World Series heads to Tokyo for the World Finals in December 2026, making it a crucial stage in the championship battle.
A single ticket will grant fans access to all three competitions throughout the afternoon and evening of 3 October.
