Huawei Malaysia has officially introduced two new additions to its ecosystem, the HUAWEI MatePad Mini and HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2. The latest devices focus on productivity and fitness, offering users a compact tablet for everyday work and entertainment, alongside a next-generation smartwatch built for runners.

HUAWEI MatePad Mini: Compact Productivity Powerhouse

Leading the launch is the HUAWEI MatePad Mini, a slim and lightweight tablet designed around Huawei’s “All-in-Mini” concept. Measuring just 5.2mm thin and weighing around 260g, it combines portability with powerful performance in a compact body.

The tablet features an 8.8-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte Display with 2.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, P3 wide colour gamut, and up to 1800 nits peak brightness. With a 92% screen-to-body ratio, the display promises immersive visuals while reducing glare for comfortable reading, streaming, and multitasking.

Huawei says the MatePad Mini’s 16:10 aspect ratio was inspired by the feel of a printed book, making it practical for both portrait and landscape use. Despite its slim profile, the device is reinforced with aerospace-grade materials for better durability.

The MatePad Mini is also deeply integrated into Huawei’s ecosystem, allowing seamless multi-device collaboration for smoother workflows. Productivity features include stylus support and enhanced note-taking tools.

Bundled as part of the launch promotion is the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro, which introduces new handwriting interaction features, a Star Ring shortcut button, and gesture controls such as pinch and rotation.

For imaging, the tablet is equipped with a 50MP rear camera and a 32MP front camera. Powering the device is a 6400mAh battery paired with 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge support.

The HUAWEI MatePad Mini is priced at RM2,199. Customers who pre-order will receive gifts worth up to RM2,014, including:

  • RM200 early bird voucher
  • HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro
  • HUAWEI Folio Cover
  • PC Level WPS 3.0
  • 3-year one-time battery replacement
  • 1-year PaperMatte Display Care (2 claims)
  • 1-year APAC warranty

HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2: Built for Serious Runners

Joining the lineup is the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2, a smartwatch designed with runners in mind. Built around the “Aesthetic of Speed” concept, it combines lightweight materials with advanced tracking and intelligent coaching tools.

The watch features Huawei’s most advanced multi-system GNSS tracking system for accurate route tracking, even in challenging locations such as city streets, tunnels, and forest trails.

A new 3D floating antenna design combines a metal middle frame, dielectric bezel, and titanium bezel to improve signal reception and energy efficiency. Huawei also adds its X-DR positioning algorithm to maintain route accuracy during signal interruptions.

One of the standout features is the Intelligent Marathon Mode, developed with the dsm-firmenich Running Team, including marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge. It offers training plans, race preparation guidance, live pacing support, and post-run performance analysis.

The WATCH GT Runner 2 also includes professional running metrics such as:

  • Running power analysis
  • Lactate threshold detection
  • Running Ability Index
  • Accurate heart rate monitoring

Weighing only 34.5g, the watch is made from aerospace-grade titanium alloy for durability while remaining lightweight. It is water resistant and suitable for sweat, rain, and everyday impacts.

Beyond running, the smartwatch supports over 100 sports modes, including golf and trail running, while offering up to 14 days of battery life.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 is priced at RM1,499.
