Samsung Electronics has introduced the One UI 8.5 beta, bringing smoother creativity tools, smarter cross-device features and stronger security across the Galaxy ecosystem. The update focuses on helping users get more done with less effort, enhancing productivity, privacy and device performance.

Smarter & Faster Content Creation

One UI 8.5 makes editing and sharing more seamless than ever:

  • Photo Assist upgrades let users generate and edit images continuously without saving between steps. All edits are stored in a visual history, making it easy to browse and pick favourites.
  • Quick Share now recognises people in photos and suggests sending images directly to those contacts for faster sharing.

Better Connectivity Across Your Galaxy Devices

New features enhance how users share files, audio and networks:

  • Audio Broadcast (Auracast) allows users to share audio or even their own voice through the phone’s mic to supported LE Audio devices nearby—perfect for tours, events or group activities.
  • Storage Share lets files from other Galaxy devices—phones, tablets, PCs, and even TVs—appear directly in the My Files app. Users can also access their phone’s files from other Samsung devices for smoother cross-device management.

Enhanced Protection & Privacy

One UI 8.5 further strengthens device and data safety:

  • Theft Protection keeps phones secure if lost or stolen.
  • Failed Authentication Lock automatically locks the device after repeated failed attempts.
  • Identity Check now covers more system settings, adding another layer of defence against unauthorized access.

Availability

The One UI 8.5 beta program is rolling out first to Galaxy S25 series users in select regions, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the U.S. starting 8 December 2025.
