The HONOR Magicbook X 16 is one of the HONOR latest unveiling that is being introduced just fresh out right after the Magic6 Pro and HONOR Pad 9 that is meant to complete their ecosystem lineup as a family of devices that works together.

To be honest, the HONOR Magicbook X 16 is quite a resemblance towards any past iterations of the HONOR Magicbook series from the base design perspective. However there is some improvement to it, it is now weighted at 1.68 KG with thickness measured at 17.9mm only. There is a webcam also, although it is only limited to 720P only, but for normal conference usage, it is there just to provide the basics of a laptop. This laptop is meant primarily for productivity and multimedia use, but still you can game if you wanted to, albeit mostly suitable for indie and lighter titles like TMNT or Streets of Rage 4, just to name two that is running smooth on.
If you are planning to use Adobe Photoshop with it, or GIMP, it is suitable too with lightweight rendering but not heavily loaded images, for the most part should you really need to run some editing, it works well.
As part of the Magic Ring, HONOR Magicbook X 16 allows for multiple connectivity with your existing or new HONOR Smartphone and Tablets, such as the Magic6 Pro and Tab 9, creating a full connected ecosystem from transferring files, share screen and cross screen functionality so that you can just use the Magicbook X16 to control all your companion HONOR devices.
Above is the benchmarking results that we have collected, apart from that, the 45WH battery can last you roughly 8 hours if you are mostly on work task, writing, editing and some music playback, while recharging back took around 1 hour to get it to full 100% battery level.

Verdict & Conclusion
The HONOR Magicbook X16 is a laptop that takes a start in prioritizing ecosystem first in their companion devices lineup that proves on the importance of multi collaboration, but this is a good way of portraying the power of connectivity even with a starter class laptop from HONOR, and this would just get better with their software improvement, and hopefully more can be seen in their next laptop lineups in the future. With that said, RM2999 is the price of the Laptop and my only concern is the 8GB of RAM which is still sufficient for all work and multimedia stuffs, should you need anything beyond the lines, you might also consider HONOR’s higher end Magicbook lineup which are still available for purchases over online or retail outlets.
