ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced that the ROG Ally gaming portable is now available with the AMD RyzenTM Z1 processor, giving the ROG Ally portfolio a more economical alternative. This current model provides superb gaming performance when on the road, and it has the same chassis, screen, storage, and cooling system as the more powerful Z1 Extreme-equipped ROG Ally.
AMD’s latest processor powers the ROG Ally. Built on the Zen 4 architecture, the Ryzen Z1 is a six-core, 12-thread CPU paired with RDNA 3 graphic compute units, offering complete support for AMD’s upscaling technologies like FSR and RSR for great gaming performance.
The Z1-powered Ally shares all of the same components as the Z1 Extreme. A dual-fan Zero Gravity thermal design with ultrathin heatsink fins and high-friction heat pipes keeps the Ally cool in any angle. The Ally also has 16 GB of LPDDR5 6400 MHz memory, 512 GB of PCIe® Gen 4 storage, and a UHS-II microSD card slot for additional storage space. WiFi 6E support ensures that the Ally maintains a rock-solid connection, even in busy networks, whether in a multiplayer brawl or streaming through Xbox Cloud Gaming.
The Ally may connect to the XG Mobile ecosystem of external GPUs for gamers who require even more performance, or for those who intend to use the Ally both on the go and as a dedicated PC at home.
