On 31 August 2023, Lazada Group conducted the fourth LazMall Brands Future Forum (BFF) 2023. In order to share ideas and innovations that will help brands and sellers succeed and provide a unique shopping experience, the conference gathered together business leaders and Lazada’s partners from all around Southeast Asia.
The following are some conference highlights:
- James Dong, Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Group, expressed confidence in the future of Southeast Asia’s digital commerce sector in his opening remarks. This sector continues to be a key growth engine for the region’s digital economy. According to this optimistic forecast, the number of monthly active purchasers on LazMall climbed by more than 3.5 times between 2019 and 2022. James also discussed Lazada’s dedication to building a sustainable company and cited significant passages from its most recent ESG Impact Report for financial year 2023.
- The expanding consumer desire for communication, innovation, and technology across Southeast Asia creates tremendous growth prospects for companies on LazMall, as emphasised in the keynote discuss by Jason Chen, Chief Business Officer, Lazada Group. LazMall’s traffic, buyer, and order growth has increased over the past year, and its customer base has grown to include more first-time, frequent, and loyal clients. With more than 13 million LazMall shop members as of July 2023, the store membership programme is a crucial instrument for increasing customer value. Just the LazBeauty Club members provide 30% of the category sales.
- In a fireside discussion with Jeffrey Towson, Managing Partner of TechMoat Consulting, Howard Wang, Chief Technology Officer of Lazada Group, gave his thoughts on how Lazada is utilising emerging technologies to unleash new breakthroughs. Howard also announced the introduction of Lazada’s most recent augmented reality and AI-powered application, the Skin Test technology, spanning all six Southeast Asian regions during the event. In order to better understand their skin issues, including skin type, tone, and sensitivities, as well as other skin concerns like wrinkles, dark spots, the appearance of pores, and more, beauty enthusiasts may now do a skin diagnostic and analysis using the cameras on their phones. Customers will receive recommendations for appropriate products to meet their needs and concerns based on the findings of the diagnostic.
