Malaysia is gearing up for three weeks of events in honor of its combined history, cultures, and identities as it approaches its 66th Independence Day. To mark this, OPPO, a worldwide pioneer in creative technology, proudly presents “66 Potret Malaysia” , a short video that gives a compelling insight into Malaysia’s essence through 66 breathtaking photographs.
Through the eye of Malaysian photographer Khairul Amin, each image captures the spirit of Malaysia’s variety in people, culture, and environment. “66 Potret Malaysia” is a heartfelt homage to Khairul’s late mother, whose love and nurturing left an unforgettable effect on his life, inspiring him to pursue photography and national pride.
“My mom’s love saw no colour – only hearts,” said Khairul, as he reflected on his mother’s sense of spirit, unity, and respect for others in the places they went and the stories she told.
“Her stories were snapshots, capturing the respect we have for our diversity. These lessons, now memories, shape every frame I take with my OPPO. This Merdeka, each click of my OPPO remembers her. 66 portraits for 66 years, echoing the heartbeat of our land, the people, the diversity she held dear, “ said Khairul Amin in the film, ’66 Potret Malaysia’.
In its quest of technical innovation for humanity and goodwill for the globe, OPPO wishes to encourage Malaysians to record and preserve experiences that make us distinct as Malaysians through Khairul Amin’s 66 Portraits of Malaysia.
The OPPO ‘66 Potret Malaysia’ Contest
With the premiere of the film, OPPO invites all Malaysians to contemplate and revel in the spirit of unity and togetherness by submitting their finest Portraits of Malaysia in OPPO’s ’66 Potret Malaysia’ contest.
Those interested in participating must first Like & Share the 66 ‘Potret Malaysia’ campaign post on Facebook and X, and submit their portrait photos with the following hashtags in the comment section: #OPPO66PotretMalaysia #66MerdekawithOPPO #TeamPortraitExpert.
The contest submissions are divided into two categories: “Icons of Malaysia” and “Colours of Malaysia.” The former, ‘Icons of Malaysia,’ asks the public to contribute breathtaking portrait images of Malaysia’s most iconic, distinctive, and emblematic foods, locations, or products. The subject will be accessible for submissions from August 21st to September 3rd, 2023, and the best photo will win an OPPO Reno10 5G, while two eligible entrants will be picked at random to get an OPPO Enco Buds2.
Malaysians will be encouraged to submit photographs in line with the ‘Colours of Malaysia’ theme from September 4th to September 17th, 2023. During this time, the public is asked to upload patriotic pictures depicting the Malaysian flag’s colors (yellow, blue, red, and white). The best shot will receive an OPPO Pad Air (4+64GB), and two contestants will be picked at random to receive an OPPO Enco Buds2.
Winners of this contest will be revealed on OPPO’s Facebook and X pages on September 22, 2023.
