DJI introduces the DJI Air 3, a powerful new addition to the Air Series with twin main cameras. The drone has a wide-angle camera and a 3x medium tele camera, allowing users to create photos with a wonderful feeling of compression and a perfect medium focal length for aerial photography lovers. DJI Air 3 Dual Primary Cameras
The DJI Air 3 features the Air Series’ first dual-primary camera system, which combines a 1/1.3-inch CMOS wide-angle camera and a 1/1.3-inch CMOS 3x medium tele camera in a small package. The two cameras have the same sensor size but have different focal lengths, resulting in more consistent image quality and a more varied camera language.
Sweeping views can be captured in greater detail with the wide-angle camera. It has 2.4m pixels, a 24mm equivalent format, and an F1.7 aperture. The 3x Medium Tele Camera has a pixel size of 2.4m, a 70mm format equivalency, and an F2.8 aperture.
The 3x medium tele camera has a 3x optical zoom and an overwhelming sense of spatial compression, allowing for a unique viewpoint when presenting the user or anybody else as the subject of aerial photography. With humans on the scene, aerial photography now has additional options.
Pilots can cover the whole countryside with the broad FOV of the wide-angle camera, or switch to the 3x medium tele camera and capture the subject as a bold focal point, with the landscape before and behind the subject appearing within reach. Both cameras take 48MP photographs, which not only provide true-to-life details but also allow for post-cropping for simple secondary composition.
In comparison to its predecessor, the DJI Air 2S, the DJI Air 3 boasts two 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensors that offer dual native ISO for direct production of 4K/60fps HDR video at high frame rates and up to 4K/100fps max video standard, now even without FOV cropping. These videos could capture rich colour details and realistic lighting shifts, restoring the breathtaking scenery before your eyes. Both cameras offer D-Log M and HLG colour modes at 10-bit resolution. For more versatile post-production, the 10-bit D-Log M mode can retain more highlight and shadow information.
The DJI Air 3 is the first Air Series drone to allow 2.7K vertical video filming (9:16), which can be instantly posted on social media.
Extended Flight Time, Easy Power Accumulation
The DJI Air 3 has a 48% longer maximum flying time of up to 46 minutes than its predecessor in the Air Series. Thus, during a single flight, pilots can seek the ideal location and alter the composition with more peace of mind.
A power accumulation feature is supported by the new battery charging hub. Users can transfer the remaining power from different batteries to the battery with the most remaining power by pressing and holding the function button. This function allows pilots to make the most of their trip while, for example, trekking in the mountains or riding in the forest, when charging options are restricted.
Confident Takeoff and Safe Landing with Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing and O4 Video Transmission
The DJI Air 3 is the first Air Series drone to have omnidirectional obstacle detecting. This capability provides the drone with extensive environmental awareness, allowing it to identify impediments in all directions. The drone is outfitted with a pair of fisheye lenses in the front and back to accomplish forward, backward, left, right, and upward sensing, while the bottom is equipped with binocular lenses and a 3D TOF to achieve strong omnidirectional obstacle detecting.
When an obstacle is identified, the DJI Air 3 can also employ APAS 5.0 to swiftly avoid and seamlessly skip obstructions, ensuring continuous shooting for a significantly improved flight experience. Even as a newbie in aerial photography, users can take off with confidence and discover new creative ideas. The ActiveTrack feature frees the pilots’ hands even further, and it works in tandem with Advanced RTH to enable fully automated flying and a worry-free return to home.
The DJI Air 3’s performance is enhanced with the next-generation O4 video transmission technology. It not only provides a transmission distance of up to 20 km, but it also increases transmission stability to eliminate stuttering live view for safer flying. It supports live feeds up to 1080p/60fps, and a greater frame rate provides a smoother viewing experience.

FocusTrack for both cameras:
Spotlight 2.0, ActiveTrack 5.0, and Point of Interest 3.0 comprise FocusTrack for both cameras. The subject remains in the centre of the frame with FocusTrack. When employing the 3x medium tele camera, a distinct sensation of spatial compression is created to showcase the pilot or any other subject in fantastic status.
QuickShots:
Allows the DJI Air 3 to do unique camera motions such as Rocket, Dronie, Circle, Helix, Boomerang, and Asteroid.
2.7K vertical video:
Dual-camera 2.7K vertical video shooting is supported by the DJI Air 3. The wide-angle camera can record detailed picture information, and the 3x medium tele camera may depict the pilot or others as the subject, allowing for more visually appealing vertical aerial photography. The 2.7K vertical shot output may be quickly posted on social media without the need for post-cropping.
MasterShots:

In post-production software, the picture file can obtain JPG-level quality, minimising the difficulties of post-production.
