Sony unveils the Xperia 1V, the world’s first flagship smartphone to include a newly designed stacked CMOS image sensor with a 2-layer Transistor Pixel. The Xperia 1V is packed with cutting-edge Sony technology, addressing the high-level demands of creators while also enabling future creators who wish to film or convey their creations with pride.

Elevating Content Capture
The Xperia 1V sets a new standard with its newly designed picture sensor, which captures vivid colours and textures of people, landscapes, and scenarios even in low-light conditions. Because of the Xperia 1V’s low-light performance, which is roughly double that of the previous model, and its high-speed multi-frame overlay procession technology, it is possible to shoot a noise-free photo with a wider dynamic range that is equivalent to a full-frame camera. The Xperia 1V’s 24 mm lens is fitted with a 2-layer Transistor Pixel stacked CMOS image sensor “Exmor T for mobile,” which is about 1.7 times bigger than the previous image sensor.
S-Cinetone, as it is called among cinematographers, has been optimised and installed for mobile use. Because the texture of human skin can be beautifully conveyed during filming, it is feasible to record an excellent cinematic image without colour grading. Furthermore, the new sensor has about three times the saturation signal level of the standard sensor, and special image processing eliminates noise that occurs in dark settings, resulting in attractive photographs with soft hues.
The Xperia 1V boasts a slew of features, including colour settings like Creative Look, which can also be found in Alpha series cameras, and high-performance real-time AF (auto focus). Preset colour choices include vibrant flowers and a bright blue sky, as well as a delicate, translucent finish. The high-performance Real-time Eye AFi and Real-time tracking of the Xperia allows you to photograph with the focus on the eyes of a person or a specific topic. Even faraway subjects can be clearly focused using AI depth, which examines distance information. Furthermore, high-speed continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second with AF/AEii tracking is now available, ensuring that no moment is missed.
Improved Vlog Experience
The Product Showcase Setting, which is a popular function in Sony’s VLOGCAM series and moves the focus on the camera to the product, rather than the reviewer’s face, fulfils all producers’ needs on the Xperia 1V. A new voice priority mic is also positioned near the back camera. Even in a crowded outdoor area, the creator’s voice is clearly captured, allowing for a simple transition from filming to releasing the video. When making a YouTube live stream using the video recording option “Videography Pro,” conversations from viewers can be viewed in the comment area at the same time, allowing for real-time contact with viewers. Immersive Experience
A 6.5-inch 4K OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hzi and reduced blur is included in the flagship Xperia smartphone. The strong and low-noise speaker amplifier enhances sound dispersion and depth, as well as low and high frequency extension, resulting in a more dramatic and clear sound. The Xperia 1V provides a realistic viewing experience for films and music without the use of an external speaker.

Accessibility and Sustainability
In an effort to improve accessibility, the Xperia 1V has a tool in the Photo Pro feature that employs noises to tell users of the horizontal and vertical measurements of the screen. The Sony Group has established a “Road to Zero” environmental strategy with the goal of achieving zero environmental burden by 2050. To do this, they are taking action while setting medium-term environmental objectives in phases. As part of the company’s mid-term environmental targets, they want to eliminate all plastic packaging materials for newly developed small items by 2025. The Xperia 1V’s plastic-free packaging is constructed of Sony’s proprietary Original Blended Material, which is produced from bamboo, sugar cane fibres, and recycled paper acquired from the market.
In addition, Sony is aiming to limit the quantity of virgin plastic utilised inside the main unit. Style Cover with Stand for Xperia 1V (XQZ-CBDQ）
To improve the shooting experience, the Xperia 1V unique cover incorporates a grip on the bottom of the main unit. It supports both horizontal and vertical stands, making it suitable not only for watching videos but also for live distribution and video chat. The rear of the cover contains the textured pattern seen on the back of the “Xperia 1V” body, ensuring that the device’s original design remains intact even when the cover is added. There are three colour options to match the body.
