Exploring the beautiful heritage of Penang

Penang is well-known among Malaysians for its international influences and historical sites that still survive today, such as the colonial Fort Cornwallis, Chinese Clan temple Khoo Kongsi, and Indian-style Kapitan Keling Mosque. Aside from that, the island is a foodie’s paradise, with a wide range of dishes from many indigenous cultures as well as modern eateries. Walking around the streets of Georgetown’s main city, you can discover heritage buildings with architectural designs that have been preserved to this day.

On Penang Hill, you have the greatest view of the city. Visitors will experience the height and be carried to the pinnacle of Penang Hill in minutes with a fast trip on the funicular train at the foot of Penang Hill. Put on your hiking boots and follow the adventurous route up, which will take around 1 hour 30 minutes. A profusion of flowers and animals welcome you on the way up

Penang provides a variety of activities for exploring the island’s many heritage sites. For the finest experience, take a trishaw to popular locations such as Khoo Kongsi Clan or the Kapitan Keling Mosque. Penang is known for its street cuisine, and the island is filled with hawker centres that provide generations honed meals ranging from the legendary Penang Char Kuey Teow to the most sought-after Penang Pasembur (a Malaysian salad consisting of beancurd, potatoes, cucumber, turnip, bean sprouts, prawn fritters, served with a sweet and spicy nut sauce.)

Meanwhile, there’s no better place to unwind after a day of touring than the beaches. Visit Batu Ferringhi beach for some gorgeous sunsets views and sea breeze.
