Counterpoint Research Market Pulse, a global research firm specialising in products specifically in the Technology, Media and Telecom industries revealed that vivo has emerged as the biggest smartphone brand in China market in 2021.
According to the study, vivo demonstrated a stellar performance in 2021, with its market share expanding to 22% in China’s smartphone market, as compared to 17% in 2020, representing a year-on-year growth rate of 21%.
Driven by strong offline penetration and expansive product portfolio strategy, vivo ranked second with a market share of 19% in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Zooming out from the China market, according to International Data Corporation (IDC), vivo’s global market share has expanded to 9.5%, as it registered a total shipment volume of 128.3 million units in 2021, as compared to 111.7 million units in the previous year representing a year-on-year increase of 14.8%.
