An affordable 5G camera shooter phone

The Redmi series of line up is known to be one of the beloved series from Xiaomi that pretty much focuses on bringing in certain flagship specs and features towards a much affordable pricetag towards the users to enjoy.

Today we will look at the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, a phone that is also part of the Note 11 series that brings in more features but packed in certain flagship hardware and lets dive into the review.

Do take note that there are 4 models that is launched, the Note 11, Note 11s, Note 11 Pro and Note 11 Pro 5G, all which carries in the same language design with different upgrade in certain specifications on the table.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G design is built on an all candybar size design look starting with its back that really matches the sleek and youth feeling with its smooth plastic touch over including the sides part of the phone. As a smartphone that targets affordable with features and advanced connectivity, the overall design still looks great to hold at first glance at the same time easy to take care as the whole construction of the phone is based on a non glossy matte material. Overall material wise is rugged enough to withstand any light drops and if it has stains just wipe will do. The bump over the camera does not bother me either as it comes with an included soft case.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G comes with the following :
– The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G Phone
– USB A to C Cable
– 67w Fast Charger
– Soft Case
– Quick Start Guide/User Manual

The above inbox package is great as its included a soft case together and you do not need to buy one, which the rest of it will be just getting yourself a pair of wired or Bluetooth earphones if you wish to use one with it.

Exploring towards the sides, on the right, there is a power button which also doubles as a fingerprint scanner and Volume UP/Down buttons while on the left side there is a SIM Card/MicroSD card slot. The bottom portion houses the microphone, USB C slot for data and charging and a bottom firing speaker. Over on the top part of the phone there is a microphone, infra-red sensor, a speaker and the 3.5mm headphone jack, over to the left there is no buttons or slots, which is great whether you are using it on your right or left hand, which ensure no accidental presses when holding it.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G comes in three colors, Graphite Gray, Polar White, Atlantic Blue which carries the weight of 202 Grams, which on its category for a 6.67 inch phone, the overall weight is well balanced with a nice to hold form factor that is coupled with a rounded edges design on the phone.

Display & Audio

Over to the display side of view, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G came with a 6.67 Inch FHD+ AMOLED screen up to 120Hz which brings vibrant display towards the affordable segment with density up to 395PPI that also can peak up to 1000nits of brightness, meaning that you will still able to look at the screen even under bright sunlight and darker environment areas. If you love to watch movies and listen music with the phone this will be a good choice for you as it is equipped with a pair of stereo speakers on top and bottom of the device with video streaming up to 1080P and Dolby Audio. Browsing and social media with it is business as usual with up to 120FPS.

When it comes to the cameras, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G rear camera setup consists of one 108MP camera with dual pixel PDAF, one 8MP ultrawide camera, 2MP macro lens and 2MP Depth Sensor, followed by a single LED flash which is the star of the show is the 108MP rear shooter combined with Panorama and Long exposure modes. Pictures taken were clear during day with good amount of light and clarity produced on each picture with good color reproduction accuracy. During night shots, average details and shadows can be still be seen with acceptable amount of light can be captured. The selfie images are bright and good during day time as well which is powered by a 16MP in display wide angle shooter.

A few shots were taken over different modes as above and the result are well represented. A sample of 10x zoom, normal and automatic shots taken were balanced and based on the overall camera setup, I am quite satisfied with it. Besides that other modes such as Macro shots mode are also supported over the rear camera.

On video recording you get support up to 1080P at 30FPS, stutters are kept to very minimal while recording but it’s with represented with good amount of details during recording but so, you are just limited to 30FPS, meaning 60FPS recording is completely impossible.

Performance and hardware wise, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is powered by the new 6nm mid range Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G Octa-Core Processor, up to 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM + 3GB RAM extension with Android 11 enhanced by the new MIUI 13 that improved quite a bit from the previous MIUI 12 in terms of speed, bringing fluidity on the overall user experience and interface. We do hope that Xiaomi will bring in the Android 12 update towards this device soon when the update is available to the public.

Call quality test is clear thanks to the inclusion of VOLTE & WOWIFI that is supported on all Telco Carrier. The phone does come with full 5G connectivity support average tested at 450Mbps, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5. Testing over WiFi connection gets up to an average of 433MBPS local transfer speeds, which is good enough for social media upload and streaming.

With Game Turbo, you can also monitor your game FPS information, change your voice, or even setup your in game recording to capture all you winning moments.

Above is the Benchmark performance, which delivers an expected optimized scores on each of the test between its graphics, and processor performance. The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is suitable for those seeking for an affordable hero mid ranger phones which is geared towards most main eSports titles and even to an extent, setting low to medium graphics on Genshin Impact that can be played quite comfortably averaging 50 to 55 FPS.

Battery performance wise, you will get around 9.5 hours of it, a mix of calls, surfing, email, streaming, and a few Mobile Legend matches with brightness set to 50%.
