The TWS that is much affordable with improvements

Introduction

Samsung has recently announced the Galaxy Buds 2, which is an affordable TWS compared with the Buds Pro with several improvements in its hardware.  Today we will take a look at the new Galaxy Buds 2 released together with the Galaxy Z third generation series range of phone lineup.

The Unboxing

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro comes with the following ;

1x Galaxy Buds 2

1x Charging Case

1x Eartips set (S,M,L)

1x USB Type-A to C Cable

1x Quick Start Guide/Manual

These are the typical items you will get in a box, simple enough and the box indicate the the color you will get or purchase without looking into description details under the box

The Design

The Galaxy Buds 2 case looks like a cute pebble to me, which has no changes over its previous design, with its shell opened up revealing the earbuds that represent a very elegant, careful but with the silver chrome removed. If the default installed eartips is not suitable, there are spare ear tips of different sizes that suit everyone’s needs. The carrying case is weighted about 41 grams and which is lighter compared to the Buds Pro, it’s easy to carry and fits in the pocket. The buds are weighted at 5 grams which is just nice to be worn upon. The Buds 2 comes in 4 colors, Olive, White, Lavender & Graphite. However do take note that the Buds 2 case outer shell will remain in white color while inside follows the color of the Buds 2 that you have purchased.

Performance – Battery and Connectivity

The Galaxy Buds 2 will last about 6 hours in my experience for a single charge, and recharging back via the included Buds 2 case will let you have another 8 rounds of battery life over your pair of earbuds. This ensures long lasting music listening and continuous gaming and entertainment enjoyment. Recharging wise, 5 minutes gives you roughly about 1.5 hour of music time, while charging the case took roughly about 1 hour via the supplied cable, however wireless charging will take much longer than that.

Connectivity wise, the Galaxy Buds Pro is connected via Bluetooth 5.x with backwards compatibility for version 4.x and it’s simple, just turn on the Bluetooth on your phone and scan, open up the charging case take out the Earbuds and place it to your ears, and its connected via a notification on your Galaxy Phone (or any Android 7.0 phone with Galaxy Wearable app installed). It’s just that simple. The pair of earbuds will detect each other automatically in stereo mode

Performance & Features

The Galaxy Buds 2 is packed with great features, performance wise , every time when I pick the earbuds up to my ear, it’s connected immediately, reconnection is quick as the Buds 2 does , with close to no latency when streaming via YouTube and Spotify. Features include automatic noise cancellation with ambient sound volume adjustments, which when someone is having a conversation with you in the real world, you will be able to hear the other person speaking, once ANC is deactivated when there is human voice present, it will be reactivated after 10 seconds. There is an equalizer setting that is predefined under the Galaxy wearable settings if you need more bass or Treble for your music.
Call quality is clear and excellent, with no voice muffle during normal calls via VoLTE and VOIP based calls, as well as video calling via Zoom and Google Meet. Music experience wise, keeping it over default settings is good enough over any genre of music. Other features include IPX2 water resistance, AAC sound compatibility, Find my Earbuds, SmartThings find & auto switch audio route with other Galaxy compatible devices covering both Smartphones, Tablets & PC/MAC.
