Samsung Highlights Easy Switching to Galaxy with Smart Switch and Quick Share

Moving to a new smartphone can be easier than expected, thanks to Samsung’s Smart Switch and Quick Share features. The company recently demonstrated this during a three-day activation at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), where 10 grand prize winners collected their new Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra devices and transferred their data using Smart Switch.

Samsung Smart Switch allows users to move essential content from their previous smartphones to a new Galaxy device, including contacts, call history, passkeys, passwords, photos and videos. The feature aims to simplify the transition, allowing users to continue using their familiar content without manually transferring everything.

Samsung is also expanding its sharing capabilities. Quick Share now supports sharing with compatible Apple devices through its “Share with iOS devices” feature, making it easier for Galaxy users to exchange photos, videos and files with friends and family who use different smartphone brands. The feature is initially available on selected flagship devices running One UI 9 and One UI 8.5, including the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Flip8 and Galaxy S26, with wider support planned.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra Combines Productivity and AI

Built on Samsung’s foldable development since 2019, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features an 8-inch main display when unfolded, allowing users to run multiple apps side by side. Its 200MP camera system, supported by Samsung’s ProVisual Engine, is designed for detailed photography and video capture.

The device also integrates Gemini Notebook and Galaxy AI features such as Now Nudge and Photo Assist to help users manage everyday tasks and enhance creative projects.

Welcome to Foldables Promotion

From 12 October to 31 December 2026, customers in Malaysia can enjoy rebates of up to RM500 when purchasing selected Samsung foldable smartphones.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is available in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB configurations, priced at RM8,099, RM8,899 and RM10,499 respectively. The Galaxy Z Fold8 starts at RM7,299 for 256GB, while the 512GB and 1TB models cost RM8,099 and RM9,699. The Galaxy Z Flip8 512GB is priced at RM6,199.

Eligible Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra buyers can also receive a 12-month iQIYI Premium VIP subscription worth RM209.90, subject to the promotion’s terms and redemption conditions.

Through easier data transfers, cross-platform sharing and productivity-focused foldable features, Samsung aims to make switching smartphones more convenient while giving users more ways to work, create and stay connected.
