Samsung hosted the Galaxy Tech Forum on January 23 in San Jose, California, unveiling its latest advancements in AI-driven health solutions. The Health AI session, titled “The Role of Technology for a Healthier Life,” explored how AI technologies are reshaping health management and enhancing personalized wellness experiences.

A Holistic Approach to Health AI

Experts highlighted the growing role of wearable devices, health apps, and telehealth platforms in modern health management. However, the challenge lies in data fragmentation, making it difficult for users to derive meaningful insights.

Dr. Patrick O’Connor, a professor at the University of Georgia, emphasized the need for a holistic approach, integrating scattered health data to offer a comprehensive understanding of well-being.

Dr. Vanessa Hill, a sleep scientist, stressed the importance of round-the-clock health tracking, noting that metrics like heart rate, temperature, and sleep patterns are crucial for overall health optimization.

Personalized Health Monitoring and AI-Driven Insights

Samsung is focusing on continuous health tracking, incorporating vital metrics such as physical activity, sleep, nutrition, and stress levels.

Dr. Kyu Rhee, President and CEO of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), highlighted how AI-powered health data can transform healthcare systems, leading to better health outcomes and reduced medical costs.

A key focus area is blood glucose management. Dr. Hon Pak, Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Health Team at Samsung Electronics, revealed Samsung’s progress in CGM-integrated nutrition coaching and non-invasive glucose tracking, aiming to simplify diabetes management and enhance preventive care.

Energy Score: AI-Powered Health Insights

Samsung has collaborated with Dr. O’Connor’s research team to develop Energy Score, a feature that consolidates sleep, activity, and heart rate data into a single, intuitive metric.

“AI-driven features like Energy Score are paving the way for broader health innovations,” said Dr. Pak. Samsung is set to expand Energy Score capabilities to include nutrition, mental health, and mobile usage patterns, offering a comprehensive view of well-being.

The Health AI session reaffirmed Samsung’s commitment to personalized and data-driven health solutions, demonstrating how AI technology is shaping the future of holistic health management.
