Intel today unveiled the Intel® Core™ Ultra 200S series processors, marking a major leap in desktop PC technology by introducing AI capabilities to enthusiasts. The lineup, led by the Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285K, includes five unlocked processors with up to 8 next-gen Performance cores (P-cores) and 16 Efficient cores (E-cores), delivering up to 14% more performance in multi-threaded workloads compared to previous generations. This series also debuts the first NPU-enabled desktop processors, integrated with Intel’s Xe GPU, offering groundbreaking advancements in AI-driven applications.
Key Highlights:
- AI Capabilities: These processors combine CPU, GPU, and NPU power, offering up to 50% faster performance in AI-driven content creation apps compared to competitor flagship processors. The NPU offloads AI tasks, freeing up the GPU for improved gaming frame rates and reduced power consumption.
- Energy Efficiency: Intel’s new architecture cuts power consumption by up to 58% in everyday tasks and 165W during gaming, providing a quieter and cooler user experience without sacrificing performance.
- Gaming & Creation: With up to 36 platform TOPS, the Intel Core Ultra 200S processors enhance gaming by up to 28% compared to competing processors, while offering robust AI-enhanced performance for content creation.
Robert Hallock, VP and GM of AI and Technical Marketing at Intel, stated, “The Intel Core Ultra 200S series processors achieve a balance between high-performance computing and energy efficiency, driven by AI and offering groundbreaking enhancements in gaming, content creation, and media performance.”
Performance and Connectivity:
- PCIe 5.0 & Thunderbolt™ 4: The series includes 20 PCIe 5.0 lanes and support for Thunderbolt™ 4 ports, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring seamless connectivity and blazing-fast wireless performance.
- Overclocking: The Intel 800 Series chipset introduces finer overclocking controls with turbo frequencies and support for DDR5 memory of up to 192GB, making it a powerful solution for gaming enthusiasts and creators alike.
Availability: Intel Core Ultra 200S processors will be available in stores and through OEM partners starting October 24, 2024.
