Design
The Huawei MatePad SE 11 is much resemblance with any of the current and new releases under the MatePad series lineup, making it pretty much looking the same except for the size and a few tiny minor differences, making it mostly uniformed in terms of design and aesthetics. Speaking of materials, the tablet is mostly made of the mix of aluminium unibody body mixed with some polycarbonate plastic, of course, the metallic color makes it very standard and easily blended wherever you use it. Weighted at just 475 grams and thickness measured at 6.9mm, this makes the Huawei MatePad SE 11 pretty easy to carry around and still does not feel heavy even holding it or placed in your bag or pouch. There is no POGO pin or accessories attachment so if you wanted to use a Keyboard, Bluetooth is the way to go. Other than that, you have one USB C for data and charging, volume button, and power button, a camera located back and front for basic photo taking and video conferencing. There is no known LTE model for this Tablet, so your choice is connecting via WiFi or Hotspot with your phone.
Display & Audio
As an 11 inch tablet, the Huawei MatePad SE 11 has some several key features keeping it to the slightly above the basic tablet needs level. The Huawei MatePad SE 11 has an 11 inch, 1200 x 1920, 60Hz IPS LCD display and that has color accuracy up to 100% in sRGB. It also feature Eye Comfort HUAWEI FullView Display for a better, fully display while then, the brightness can go up to 400nits maximum, making it comfortable to be used indoors, while outdoors, depending on how bright is outside, its still can perform pretty well. The tablet does have Widevine support, therefore you still can enjoy DRM certified streaming apps like Netflix, but you will be limited to SD resolution only, however at least you still can enjoy via the DRM certified apps, so that’s a plus for me.
On the audio front, you’re well-equipped for a great sound experience with its quad speakers, two on each side, which are fine-tuned with HUAWEI Histen Audio. The experience can be described as subtle with excellent audio output, whether it’s vocals or music, as both pairs of speakers evenly distribute sound in the surrounding area without any distortion, even at maximum volume, delivering great clarity.
Performance, Software, Benchmarks
The HUAWEI MatePad SE 11 is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 710 with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It does not have any form of expandable storage option and no known LTE version, but judging on the price, it is totally fine and should you need to backup files, Huawei Cloud can still be an option to back things up, or otherwise it also can be done manually with an OTG drive. There is still Wi-Fi AC and Bluetooth, therefore you still be able to enjoy reasonable Wi-Fi transfer speeds up to 433MBPS which is still smooth when it comes to streaming movies and downloads. The main objective of the tablet is still focused on budget productivity, very light gaming and education purpose. The included 7700 mAh battery capacity will get you going at least 13 hours combined with a mixture of work and play apps.
Gaming wise, you still can game on it, but on games such as Mobile Legends and COD Mobile are the examples which you will be able to play with it on a decent framerate, anything heavier than the two games mentioned may resulted in frame drops or may boot you back to the home screen, so do set your expectation right.
Powered by HarmonyOS 2 and backed by Android 10, which is dated however Huawei is still maintaining all the necessary updates and security patches to ensure latest applications and games are still compliant and compatible with it. To be honest, in terms of OS and UI, and if you are used to the HarmonyOS or Android ecosystem, you should still be able to operate and navigate the device pretty easily despite it is still running on the older build of the UI. Super Device connectivity is still here, which allow sync collaboration such as transfers to a simple copy and pasting, which can be done instantly without configuring much, as long you are signed in to the same HUAWEI account. Besides that the AppGallery is much user friendly ever before, installing Google Apps is easy by just searching, and MicroG will install automatically in the background.
So far there is only two known accessories for the Huawei MatePad SE 11, the casing which can be used as a stand and the Huawei M Pencil Lite which is an active stylus that can be connected without Bluetooth and supports palm rejection.
Now to the Benchmarks, since this is powered by the Kirin 710, it still can run on apps and games that can take advantage of the multi-core processing on light and general usage.

Verdict & Conclusion
The HUAWEI MatePad SE 11 in the end of the day is a budget oriented tablet that is still priced right if all you need is a bigger screen tablet for light work, but most importantly it is kid friendly and highly suitable for it’s nice set of quad speakers on all your multimedia consumption needs from just RM799. Again it is definitely not the fastest tablet out there, but admittedly it is still fast enough if you are just consuming it with most apps used today.
